I am about to receive my doctorate in pharmacy for reference. I will be contacting the NYS board of pharmacy regarding the disgrace to the profession I just heard, and the fact those actions can harm a patient without prior pharmaceutical knowledge. Do NOT go to this pharmacy for your own safety, as I sincerely doubt your medications are being reviewed for your safety based on this call, and could even put you in danger (this is my opinion). Anyways, my pharmacist at the Transit Road location warned me about calling them, saying the pharmacist was “incredibly disrespectful and then hung up on me, so just be careful. They have a reputation of being quite rude”. She is extremely kind, and caring so I know she didn’t do a single thing to provoke him. When I spoke to the pharmacist about getting a medication, I needed to also speak about the potential for a drug interaction with ibuprofen, and needed his opinion on it. I was concerned because this interaction could potentially be lethal. He was annoyed from the second he picked up the phone, and then when I said I had one question about a potential (lethal) interaction and wanted his opinion on it, he scoffed, and said “alright you know what have a great day” in a sarcastic and really aggressive tone and then hung up on me. It is the main job of a pharmacist to educate patients on the potential of drug interactions and it is what he is paid for. I’m not following up with just Walgreens on him, as this has happened multiple times (just confirmed and called back) to my regular pharmacy on transit. I will be discussing this call with the NYS board of pharmacy that he just put Walgreens at risk by ignoring a patients question regarding a potentially lethal interaction, and for people who don’t have an education in pharmacy, they might just take the two meds anyways after being hung up on, which could cause this lethal reaction....
Read moreEver since the pharmacist that had been there for years left, it’s not been the same. I went to pick up a medication today, and the pharmacist told me I was at risk for drug interaction because of a med I haven’t been prescribed in ten years. When I told her I don’t take that anymore, she got annoyed and said the generic name, as though I was too stupid to understand. I reiterated that I no longer take that. She then looked at my med list and said I was still on an SSRI (which Wellbutrin is NOT), and if I was ok with all the possible side effects from drug interaction then fine. She was rude and condescending. I’ve been using this pharmacy forever, but I think I’m going to switch. Incidentally, I’m a Registered Nurse, and while she didn’t know that, no customer should be treated disrespectfully. The fact that I know my meds, and a fair amount of pharmacology after lo these many years in nursing saved me from misinformation. This should NEVER happen. Pharmacy Tech, however, is pretty awesome, her name is Fran and she’s always...
Read moreI get a notification. My prescriptions are ready. I go there they’re not ready. The girl behind the counter tells me not to get upset with her doesn’t appreciate me getting upset with her and I’m like this is not the first time it happened and don’t be a snowflake and woke. I showed proof that I had three scripts ready where are they? She doesn’t know where and she walks away from me. Then another attendant helps me and tries to fix it, but the snowflake can’t handle it and walks away from me that’s how they deal with customers, young worker snowflake Walks away. So again I go through all my scripts with them for the second time what they are want automatic renewal for all of them for a second time to get it done right hopefully they’ll get it right. There’s a lot of other pharmacies I can go to. I should remind...
