Visit #1: When i spilled liquid on my mint Apple Macbook Pro i thought it was the end. All files, programs, data stored on built in SSD drive gone. Of course i started to set appointment with the apple store ans authorized service departments but eventually i thought of local UbreakIfix at Deer Park. So many good reviews referring to same working over there people was good enough for me to give them a shot…and no appointments needed. Decided to take my Mac there. I was met by Matthew, big nerdy looking guy but he was very polite, calm, professional. Didnt over promise anything and was upfront with pricing and what to expect. Left my item with him. He is so good and organized he didnt even once forget to give me a call back with update on my repair. Imagine that after just two days (and lets not forget about his very professional coworker name i forgot) i got a call that they have managed to clean and fully restore my Mac. No privacy breach just professional work. On top of that they charged me for what exactly they have done. No fees or made up numbers. I call it PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY. If i relocate ill drive through entire island just to give my business to not just UbreakIfix BUT to these people working in this particular location. They took apart my Mac, put together and didnt make a single tiny scratch on it in the process. Respect. Thank you guys. I have trust and confidence to send your way anybody with their computer, phone, electronic device.
Visit #2: This time I came with older iMac that needed new SSD installed to properly work again. I provided brand new drive and it was installed rather quickly. Read moreHORRIBLE Business...I dropped my son's PS4 off to be repaired over three weeks ago. They said they would diagnose it and call me back within 48 hours. A week went by and I didn't hear from them. I called back the following week, and then was put on hold for 10 minutes to be told they have to take a look at it (this is after a week). So in a week's time they still didn't take a look at it. They apologized and said they'd call back the next day. Another week went by and no one called. I called back and they said there was an issue with the HDMI port and someone would call me the next day. Again, no return phone call. Another week went by and after not hearing from then again, I went into the store in person. I was told it would be fixed that night and they'd call me. ANOTHER week went by and I still hadn't heard from them, so I called AGAIN!!! This time I was told it can't be fixed--after almost a month of them having the machine and not once ever calling me as they said they would. This is NO way to do business, and I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS to anyone. It's completely unprofessional and amature. If I owned this business, I'd be embarrassed by my employees and would fire them. It's completely unacceptable to hold on to someone's equipment for a month and NOT ONCE give them a call. I brought a Z Flip 5 to the Smithtown location where they jerked me around for 22 days of unclear, contradictory updates, parts that were supposed to arrive in "2 days" that always seemed to disappear, and them actually breaking the screen on my phone when opening it up to diagnose a hinge issue. It was one of the worst service experiences I've encountered, and the one thing that kept me from being furious at them was secondhand embarrassment at the idea of them being so incredibly bad at their day jobs.
This Deer Park location was a breath of fresh air in contrast. From the moment they answered the phone it was apparent that this location is run and staffed by enthusiastic, competent people who are genuinely worth trusting with an important device like your cell phone. It took them less than 2 hours to completely fix my phone, including the damage caused by the Smithtown location, and they kept me informed and set reasonable expectations they overdelivered on throughout the process.
