Same old song and dance here. I came across a jeep wrangler on the novak website and "liked" it, which, lead to the warm welcoming solicitation phone call from joe. The second i said i couldnt make it in that day, miraculously, there was someone coming in from brooklyn to see the same truck i was looking at.Car salesman IKK #1. When i did get there, i found someone sitting in an office (mike the manager) and i asked to see joe, Mike says wow, joes a lucky guy. Ikk #2. Joe shows me the jeep im interested in. Everyone is smiles, and quick to help. I asked to make sure the jeep tool kit was with the truck, he says if its not, he will get me one, then mentions he believes this jeep came with a soft top also. Cool. I ask about the tires, the rear are worn down painfully worse than the front. Im told i can come back in a few months, and they will give me tires at their cost, they will give me a "we owe" in writing. Joe then tells me, when i come back i can "bat my eyelashes at mike, he is a sucker for the ladies" ...... Ikkk #3. Suspectedly, the brooklyn appointment never showed up. Anyway, everyone is smiles and hugs as they take my 1000 non refundable deposit(which smithaven.jeep told me was illegal to not return a refund). Everyone is at my beckon call through to monday. I get there, and im waiting at least 2 hours for them to start the financing. Whatever. These things take time. The finance department was actially great. He was straight and to the point, no awkward schmoozing or sexist comments. While im waiting, mike comes in, now knowing what i do for a living, and asks me to help him with his private paperwork for a family member, since he "didnt know what he was doing". Unprofessional, but, ive been sitting for 5 hours and will do anything to just get out of there at this point. Mike leaves, quickly, I ask about the "we owe" and my In writing promise, turns into, just come in in a few months, mike will remember you, hell "take care of you", and mike is now unavailable to speak to. Cool. I finally get to leave, get home, review my paperwork and the NOVAK window sticker, in fact, shows a soft top as well as 3 piece hard top. I text joe with a picture of the window sticker. No answer. Give it a week, hey joe, any luck with the soft top? Joe responds "i have the guys in the back looking into it for you, but they are all in pieces and no one knows if there is a complete top back there" Okay, another week goes by, text joe, no response. I drive 45 minutes to NOVAK, find joe, he says let me show you what im dealing with, brings me to the back where there are 4/5 soft tops. Most are mismatched pieces, one is fully together in the original box with a note on it that says 2021 WRANGLER SOFT TOP, NEW OWNER DIDNT WANT. i point this out and joe says, mike isnt here, hell be in tomorrow, let me ask him. Ill tell him youll leave us great reviews, and to keep you happy, since we dont even have the jeep it belongs to, lets just give it to you to get a good review. Guess what? Text joe the next week, no response. Texted today, and i said the "not responding" is my biggest issue right now, he responds almost immediately telling me the one i wanted is damaged and mike said we cant give it to you since it wasnt promised to you" So he went from not knowing what parts went to what top, me showing him a complete top that didnt have a jeep to go with it, to now, knowing this one was "damaged" Keep your "tires at cost" and really lame sexist comments for someone who may be impressed. My jeep comes with a "limited lifetime powertrain warranty" through NOVAK, i can only imagine what song and dance they will come up with if/when i have any powertrain issues. Ill use my own mechanic, and ill buy my own tires. Just be ware of empty promises from these old school salesmen once they get your money in their...

In May 2016, I purchased a Chrysler 300 from Frank at Novak Motors. At the time they were located in Hauppauge, NY and Amy was their Director of Finance. Customer Service was outstanding and I have shared that experience with numerous friends/co-workers over the years who were looking to buy a vehicle.
Fast forward May 2021, I went to Novak to purchase a vehicle for my wife and decided on a Nissan Rogue. I completed my credit application and informed my salesperson, Gabe that I wanted to finance the vehicle through my credit union, Ocean Financial. He assured me that would not be a problem. He stated once my credit report came back and I sit with the Finance Manager, all those decisions will be made. When I came back for my appointment, the finance manager informed me my loan had already been placed with BB&T Bank because my credit union's rates were too high. When I questioned why the rate was higher, he told me it was based on my credit report and that this bank was lowest at 5.32% for 72 months. At this point I figured I was already set on the vehicle and just signed off.
Upon delivery of the vehicle there were several scratches that were supposed to have been fixed and there was only 1 Key Fob with the vehicle. When I asked for the 2nd key, Gabe told me his manager said I would have to purchase it at $150.00 because the car only came with 1 key. I asked to speak with the manager who arrived with an attitude. At this point I told him I didn't like the way I was being treated and asked to cancel the deal (financing, scratches, key fob and overall attitude of the manager). He agreed... However, while I was waiting, Gabe arrived back with the 2nd Key Fob that was mysteriously found in the back and they agreed to fix the scratches. The manager then informed me they were no longer affiliated with Ocean Financial and therefore had no choice but to use BB&T Bank. I agreed to take the deal as my wife had her heart set on the vehicle.
*The next business day I contacted my credit union who stated my credit was fine and my interest rate would have been 3.10% for 78 months. They also confirmed Ocean Financial is still affiliated with Grove Car/Novak Motors. I am in the process of refinancing but obviously the business was steered to BB&T for some reason??? Apparently, Novak's management has shifted their emphasis from customer service to just making...
Read moreI purchased a 2015 Challenger SRT 392 on April 28, 2018 from Novak Motors.
Initially, the Novak staff were very accommodating and helpful to finish the purchase, as I was coming from over three hours a way to purchase the vehicle.
In the first month, however, I noticed that the brakes made a profound screeching sound. I gave it some time to see if it would resolve itself but it did not. I reached out to Novak regarding this issue and they advised that I go to a local Dodge dealer to check the brake issue. The Dodge dealer SRT Specialist diagnosis was that the front brakes were not broken in properly and required replacement.
The replacement costs were high, which drove the Novak team to refuse to pay the Dodge dealer for the replacement brakes and they insisted I go back to them for them to check the brakes themselves.
Novak’s GM stated that they would not do the repair or replacement outside of their facility, despite an initial statement made by the salesman when I bought the car. The general manager also alluded that my brake issues were a result of my driving.
In any case, I ended up driving another 3 hours back to Novak for them to verify the Dodge’s diagnosis. Their statement was that “This is a normal SRT squeak done by all SRT vehicles Brembo brakes” and that despite that, they polished/sanded down the brakes to reduce the squeal claiming that a break-in procedure should be done.
A break-in procedure for those who don’t know, is a series of speeding to 60 mph followed by harsh braking to 30 mph to break in the brakes.
Months later... as demonstrated in the video attached (taken 11/24/18), the brakes are still excruciatingly loud showing that their diagnosis was incorrect. I also want to point out that when the video was taken, I had just left my home and therefore the brakes could not have possibly been overheated.
I want to conclude that Novak is trying avoid responsibility by having contradictory statements saying that the issue is caused by driving habits versus the squealing being a normal result of having Brembo brakes. It is frustrating that this issue been unresolved for over 6 months now, leaving me to fix it on my own after paying a large sum for...
