What follows this first paragraph is a review I made on another site on July 8th 2016. I was contacted by a Huffman Koos representative via email who stated they wanted to help resolve the issue and they made sure to post that they were looking into my issue in response to my initial review for all to see, such as they are doing to many reviews here. It took about 3 weeks and 3 more inquires by me to get a response back. So finally in response to my initial review, they said they don't work with the delivery company that shipped my furniture anymore, and I would have to contact them, followed by the delivery companies name and a phone number. And that is how they resolve issues. Lay the blame on someone else. I didn't buy the furniture from, nor did I choose to use this delivery company. Is it fair that they send me to the delivery company, who incidentally also does not want to take responsibility either? I will leave that to you, the reader, to decide for yourself.
Here is my original review:
Back in February we ordered a sectional and a TV stand from Huffman Koos (referred to hereafter as HK). 8 weeks later they call to set a delivery date, "sorry the TV stand is back ordered and won't be with it". They come as scheduled but the corner wedge is wrong. Delivery guy tells us to accept everything and deal with HK to straighten it out. Yeah I don't think so. We make him take the corner wedge back and kept the couches. We go to HK and they tell us they think our corner was sent to someone else.
About 2 weeks later they tell us the factory made it wrong and they are ordering us a new one and tell us another 8 weeks, and "by the way your TV stand won't be in until June 30th!" TV stand finally arrives but they open the box and one of the legs falls out. Back to HK probably for the 4th time by now and they tell us they're going to fix it but give us $200 off the original sale price. TV stand comes back and the leg is fixed, but they send us a coupon for $200 off that we can use towards future purchases, not $200 off the TV stand. The wedge arrives at last, but the delivery guys moved the couch to put in the wedge and scratch our floors we just had redone. The delivery guy lets me talk to someone (dispatcher?), who tells me someone will be in touch about the scratch. Our salesperson called to find out how the delivery went and she too was going to contact the shipper about the scratch. We haven't heard back from either.
When I call HK they now put me on hold and don't return. I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to deal with this nonsense anymore either. Since making the last payment, the manager has also stopped returning texts. Everything after they made the initial sale was a terrible experience. Their entire system from just after you make your purchase to the end of your experience with them is completely broken and miserable. No one is held accountable, and no one takes any responsibility. They all blame someone else. Delivery blames sales, sales blame the factory, and nothing ever gets done. We really should have read the reviews for this place. This wasnât just bad serviceâit was a masterclass in how not to treat customers. We paid good money for a couch and got half a product, zero communication, and a $75 insult disguised as compensation ( free shipping is a given).    Read moreFabian was super helpful. I was surprised at the amount that we were able to negotiate with them on the pricing. That is where the positive experience ended. It has been 4 months since I have purchased my furniture and it is still not what I was supposed to get.
1 - I was very open about the fact that I was traveling overseas in February and that I have to receive my initial furniture delivery before I leave. Everyone was ok with that. When the time came for the delivery - They told me that oops the furniture isn't available and that we will have to deliver it another day. I told them that I am not taking the delivery as I will be over seas for quite a while and you can cancel my order since I won't be in the states to take the order. Mysteriously, the furniture still arrived anyway. One bedroom set they were able to set up. The second one they showed up with broken items.
2 - they came back after the broken items were brought back in. They came in with the wrong items. They came in with the wrong bed frame and installed the wrong bed frame even though we were all adamant that the bed frame was wrong. They kept on insisting it was the right one. I called the sales person Fabian the only bright spot in all of this. He assured me that they would take care of it. They showed up a week later with the right bed frame and installed it. They nicely left the old bed frame on my floor and didn't take it. Apparently that bed frame was broken.
3 - After most of my furniture was delivered there was one item that apparently broke during my last delivery. The lights around my daughters bed. We are now 4 plus months from my initial order and I don't have the lights installed. After I called - they never call me it is always me calling them and chasing them on when things will be coming in or when they will be installed. They scheduled a delivery date for the lights and then were going to install them. They never showed up - instead, they mailed me the lights. I didn't know what the package was it didn't say it was from them. I opened it up and realized and called them. I was told that someone will call me - no one did. We are here weeks after that conversation and today I let them know that I will give them my 2 star review - 5 starts for Fabian and minus 3 for the company. 2 is generous.
Hopefully they will show up and install my lights for my daughters bed before she grows up and doesn't want lights on her bed.
Honestly, if I had to do it all again I would have NEVER bought furniture from them. The furniture is really expensive - it is supposed to be great quality but the customer service is AWFUL.
