One of the shabbier, more disappointing Targets I've been to. It's the closest one to where I live. I'd go to a different one, but sadly, most other Target locations are showing the same signs of growing inattention.
The stores are getting less organized and increasingly dirtier, they are more and ore understaffed, the current employees don't know where things are or whether the store even carries them, and I have yet to meet a Target employee who knows anything about how to use the Target app. The stores are also out of product all the time - stuff like toilet paper, trash bags, cleaning supplies are missing for weeks and sometimes months - and prices across the entire store are increasingly more expensive. For what?
You know it's bad when you compare prices between Target and Wegmans and Wegmans comes out the winner by as much as $3 in some cases. Whenever I go into a Target store now, I get the same vibe I got when I'd go into a K-Mart about three years before the whole chain just up and died.
It's not exactly like Target's a tiny little mom-and-pop shop. Theyre a big-box, national chain. When compared to a regional grocery chain, considering Target's products are of lower quality, it does not make any sense at all that Target's prices are higher. I've compared several other stores with Target, too. Target's prices are no longer a good reason to shop at Target.
Target has gone seriously downhill overall in recent years. They're going to be sorry for it if they don't shake up their C-suite, all of whom seem to be asleep and have lost touch with reality and what the everyday experience of their stores are like.
I used to love going to Target just to wander around and pass the time. Now there's hardly a reason. Rarely anything new, many items are cheap and overpriced, empty sections, the place is a pigsty, nonexistent assistance.
Way to kill the vibe, Target. What a bummer. I hope...
Read moreI didn't know how terrible Target was until I had orientation there. That's all I could take was orientation. They don't pay anything, they don't care about working around your schedule, they don't let you leave the premises during breaks, they don't have free food in the breakroom, the HR lady was like a Saturday Day Detention teacher, they don't even have cashiers when the STORE OPENS, all they have when the store opens is SELF CHECKOUT, they don't play music in the store, the room we had orientation in was dirty with food all over the floor. This is exactly like a CLONE OF WALMART, I don't know why I ever thought it wasn't!
They were one of the first major companies to move to $15 an hour pay for employees before they had to, but since that day years ago they have only moved up their base pay 50 cents.
The HR lady told me why would you want to work at this other place that offered you a job even if they pay more and can work around your schedule because we will give you more hours. Will you? Is that a verbal promise? Your company is tanking and your last quarter results were ABYSMAL but I am just supposed to take your word that I will get a bunch of hours? ok sure thing. Trusting corporations has worked out so well in the...
Read moreCashier didn’t make sure we had all of our items we purchased, we didn’t get three of our items we had paid for. When we couldn’t find them I called customer service in the store and someone named Josh said I will put you through to customer service so I wait and wait, then Josh comes on the phone and says customer service and I said didn’t you put me through to customer service and he says I am customer service. How unbelievable, wasting his time and mine. I tell him what had happened with my purchases and he says he has them right there. He takes required information for me to pick them up and tells me I have until the 28th at store close to pick them up, so that only gives me 2 days to drive 25 miles to get the items I already paid for. Customer service is very poor...
