Weāve been living here for almost a year now and absolutely love this apartment complex. The staff who works here are all lovely and amazing, the apartments are well made, quiet and spacious, living above a grocery store is life changing, and the restaurants below are all fabulous. It only loses one star for me because of walkability, which is really more on Brookfield the city than the Corners. If you like to walk places or take the bus like me, itās not great for that. Youāre next to a huge city street/ highway that only had cars in mind when they widened it. If you like to bike thereās no bike lane. In the summer thereās no trees lining the sidewalks, which are too narrow and poorly maintained, and in the winter the snow gets plowed ONTO the sidewalks so (today for instance) I had to struggle through two foot tall snow drifts to get to my bus. The crosswalks to cross the street are also made without pedestrians in mind. It takes forever to get a walk sign (even if youāre going with the green for the cars) and itās too short a signal to get across the street. The nearest shops after leaving the Corners complex are an hour walk away. Thereās an empty lot next to the corners I would just love if they turned into a park with trees and walking paths and extended the dog park. Thereās already two levels of parking and even at the corners busiest (Christmas shopping) itās never full, we donāt need more parking spots. A park with trees on the complex would elevate the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSpouse and I visited this shopping center for the first time 2/18. Looking for a specific item, wanted to try LL Bean. First thing we noticed was the confusing traffic patterns, unlike any "downtown" we've ever been at. Had to drive in a circle twice to find Bean. (Response to comment below: LL Bean lightweight vest priced at $ 170! Drove to Eddie Bauer at Mayfair and found same item in their Ascent line for $ 54 on sale, which is what I purchased.) What struck us was the large number of unoccupied storefronts. Thought that since this had been open for almost a year, there would be more. Most shops were women's clothing boutiques and some salon type services. Bel Air Cantina, Cafe Hollander (multiple other locations in this area,) and some other nondescript chain type restaurants, nothing upscale or unique to the MKE area. (Response to "date night" comment below: Our "date nights"--we are seniors BTW--are always at higher end independent restaurants with great wine lists, like Sanford, Red Circle Inn, Union House...never at places like Cafe Hollander or Bel Air Cantina. Spouse hates Mexican food and we don't eat fried. ) Felt we had to be very careful driving through there, since it struck us as "fender bender" territory. Not a fun experience, will not be back. I think this development will be in financial trouble...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHate this place. No. 1 itās a millennial play ground, having Nothing but stuff that is just made to please millennials not friendly to older people at all. BYW there are nothing but hipster Restraunts places that arenāt even appealing at all. No. 2 itās too modern, so modern and ugly itās an eyesore just to look and and disfigures the landscape, there are several other places to build a hipster city but donāt do it in a suburban town. Do it in an urban area with more millennials. No. 3 itās a terrible location for it. Right off the highway? Come on seriously, before this junk pile was build there were a bunch of restraunts more appealing to everyone * NOT JUST MELLENIALS*! And a lot of hotels too. Now thereās just this worthless junk pile with only hipster friendly restaurants and no hotels. I would not be surprised if this place shuts down or becomes financially unsuccessful in the future. But this...
