I might be the wrong demographic for this store. I went opening day, my first time. I expected crowds and fuss and there was. This was not what was bothering me. What bothered me was upon finding the extremely small organic section, strawberries were moldy in some packs. The grapes were not crunchy but softer which means older. I canāt understand how fruit is already turning on opening day. Bad storage practices? My 2 year old wanted to eat some fruit while shopping. There were no garbage cans to be found within the store. First Iāve been to where there arenāt garbage cans around. The lines were long - again to be expected. A well meaning but clueless worker was trying to tell a bunch of us waiting that there werenāt as long of lines on the other side of the store. I told her that wasnāt true as I just came from there and they were in fact longer. She went to check and told me I was right. Please check these things before trying to steer people around. Luckily no one left their cue because I spoke up. For me, the organic section was not large enough and the wrong items were āorganicā - such as highly processed / packaged foods. Also the aisles werenāt quite large enough to accommodate the large shopping carts. Two people going in opposing directions had to squeeze by each other to get through. Iāll stick to my Trader Joeās, Wegmans and A Matter Of Health. Thanks Aldi...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place SUCKS!! There's always a line a mile long line stretching to the aisles! Always 1 or 2 cashiers, even on the weekends when it's busy. Today there were 4 employees up front. 2 were on the register, one was packing out a front end display of 12-packs La Croix sodas and the 4th looks at the long line and tells the soda girl to ring her up as she grabbed a drink from the refrigerated display.
I was livid! 1) if you can ring up her 1 item, how about me and the gentleman in the neighboring line? We both had 2 items, but were stuck behind 2 rude idiots with 30+ items. I call them rude idiots because I was raised to have enough manners, courtesy, common sense and compassion to see ppl with a few items in tow and let them go in front of my cart full of stuff.
Why isn't there an express line? As many people that run in to get a few things,it should definitely be a permanent addition
Why the hell are you so understaffed? It makes customers extremely frustrated to see 1 or 2 cashiers when you have 4 available registers. Use all of your machines.
the 2 girls who were dealing with the soda should have helped the other 2 on the register. Instead they acted like we were invisible and carried on a conversation as she casually sipped her newly bought soda.
Absolutely unacceptable š¤ Aldi needs to make some changes and put...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've tried to give Aldi a chance, but every time it dissapoints. Too much junk food, minor amount of organics, prices are often on the higher (same items cheaper at other supermarkets). Chained up shopping carts (poor move if you want customers to buy more). Unfriendly staff and no way to see how things ring up at the register. Almost empty every time I go no matter what time of day. And they never, ever carry their 'famous' low carb bread (I've since found an alternative from Schmidt's easily found at Stop n Shop and Shoprite). I give it two stars only for being clean. I'll keep going to other local supermarkets and will happily travel to go to the much better Trader Joe's. Considering the recent demise of Fairway in Nanuet, I wouldn't be surprised if this place ends up with...
