I went to this store in Nanuet on Sunday Oct 23rd at around 12pm but prior to going in I spoke with store associate Sam who advised me that ALL Christmas decor was 60% off. I asked her a few time on the call if she was sure and she said yes. I therefore went into the store based on what she said and with excitement for two carts full of all my holiday decorations. When I got to the register there was tons of cashiers and I was fortunate enough to happen to get Sam as my cashier. As we started cashing I asked her again if the Christmas items were 60% offshe said yes but there was a manager close by who quickly said NO. I told her I only came in based on Sam’s information. She did not care. She said no because Christmas is new and no it will only be 40%. She did not care that her associate was wrong and hence the reason I came in she did not even apologize. Sam was also very annoying that I had many items to wrap and she called the manager over to ask when was her break literally while half way into my transaction. I spent way over the average customer and mainly because it was bulk items that I needed. They offered no help to get my three carts to the door or even to my car. This was start to finish a terrible experience and honestly I was at this same store about a month prior with a friend who was shopping and he said to me no one wanted to help him but I did not pay it any real attention as I personally was not shopping. I ended up spending $641.43 cents and I had to bag my own items and pack my cart while she was mad to do her own job. Also I say this while employed and would be so grateful to be working right now. Sometime people don’t even know if you spent your last at...
Read moreI’ve been frequenting this michaels for quite some time. Unfortunately last night when I went to the store to purchase an acrylic pink paint bottle I got home to find the seal had been slightly punctured and when squeezed out it was almost solid. Too thick and had dried out since the seal was punctured already. I went into store to exchange for the same exact one with the receipt today and the front end woman managing was bothered by the amount of customers in line. When she saw that I had squeezed a tiny bit onto the lid to test it she stated “ this can’t be sold like this I can’t return it.” I replied it wouldn’t be sold anyway as it was already dried out and solid when I purchased which is why I was returned. It was unusable upon purchase. She proceeded to squeeze both pink bottles (the old & new one I had just grabbed for exchanging )and told me they feel exactly the same. At this point I’m annoyed because I already waited awhile in line and now she’s arguing with me over a $6 bottle of dried out paint. I had the receipt that showed I had just purchased the night prior. I told her to squeeze it out if she didn’t believe me. It wasn’t usable. She ended up returning it saying it was a customer courtesy but really made me work for what seems like an easy and obviously...
Read moreThe framing is pricey, even with the discounts. However, Arlene, who does a lot of the framing work, is such a pleasure to work with and has such a caring demeanor, meticulous standard of craftsmanship, and unerring color sense in helping to choose the matting, that it's worth it. She also does her best to make sure you get all available discounts, and gives you all the consultation time you need. She is helpful with design suggestions, but never pushy or overbearing. Arlene is endlessly patient with trying this color against that one, holding them up to the frame, trying the various combinations out against the painting, and showing you on the computer what it would look like framed. I have now had two paintings framed by Arlene, and they look fantastic - everyone who comes over comments on how beautiful my artwork is. Arlene is unfailingly cheerful and upbeat, and genuinely seems like a person who loves what she does, and her wonderful attitude definitely translates to the...
