I needed an article of clothing while on vacation.... A basic item that is not sold in tourist shops. I was relieved to see a Boscov's! I live very near the home town of the founder of Boscov's. I visited first thing on a Saturday morning. It was a trick finding someone to point me to the right department but a kind woman at a cosmetics counter helped me. I found the item I wanted and tried to check out. My luck... The only place I could find a cashier was in the shoe department. The two employees were a kindly gentleman who was already waiting on another woman and a woman who seemed eager to do as little for me as possible. I asked if I could check out the clothing item I had at "her" shoe cashier station. She called "yup" over her shoulder and disappeared into the back, the shoe stock area. The female customer in front of me wanted to buy a pair of shoes but also order another of the same type but different color or something. So I stood there wondering where the female employee had gone, wishing I could get through and get to the car to continue on our trip. Not that anyone at Boscov's could possibly have known, I'd injured my back and standing for a prolonged time was kind of difficult. After leaving Boscov's, I went to a nearby urgent care, in fact. But I digress... The woman customer excused herself for taking so long... The clerk had to enter her name, address, telephone number and email address before the sale was completed for the item being ordered. I replied truthfully that it was not a big deal. What was to be done? The other employee had taken a powder and the gentleman was going as fast as he and the cash register screen would permit. I really wasn't in a rush, per se, just wishing I didn't have to keep shifting my weight foot to foot with my back in spasm. Anyway, she finished and I was rung up quickly. I told the gentleman that I was from the town of the original Boscov's and that I had no idea that there was a branch so far from Reading PA. He thanked me and the previous customer chuckled, saying that she'd probably be broke if she lived so close to a number of Boscov's branches. In all, a pleasant experience, if a...
Read morePitiful!!. As I was wearing a pair if amazing shorts, work polo (400 $jordans)s my wife in spandex an a t shirt. We were going dress shopping. Our 3 kids in play clothes,as mom wanted dresses bad. One beautiful to accent her tan. We walked through over to the dress quiet an in line. Starting to make our choices for final selection. Hearing a request for security, was the start. As an employee pretended to be restocking the dress watching us. As I selected one I thought was nice to highlight my beautiful wife. Not caring if the elder employee stared. Together we grabbed another one, so we approached the counter to ask an show the employees a picture of a must we seen on line. A blonde lady semi nodded to a younger woman as I sit my 2 items down. As 3 employees stood there, not a hi, how are you, did you find everything ok,, proceeded to start to ring me up. As my wife's mom had just passed, she didn't want to interact with anyone. To the left of the counter wall was 3 mirrors attached, as my kids admired themselves, smiling. The older blonde stood there seemly disgusted as to hate kids. Wife was unknown to the situation, seeing in amazement our 10 yr old was the same height as her. I now was irate as I watch this lady stare rudely as my kids smiled in the mirror. I paid for my items not saying a word, because as I'm I'm supervisor an know how wrong it is to be ignorant to any customer. So as I grabbed the bag, I put my hand on my wife's back an escorted her away. If I ever treated any one with that much disrespectful attitude I would be unemployed. So I escorted my beautiful wife to Macy's an proceeded to spoil. Maybe there was a bad rude customer before, or maybe some people need people training. For many years my wife always received compliments on her fancy attire, and we always bragged boscovs. After being belittled an degraded as peasants, I may not ever return....

I went to another store and as I came out I was briskly grabbed by a man who said I was stealing in boscovs.while still holding me he made a phonecall stating I got her then another man comes snatches my bags and goes through them he was very mean and rude he stated I was in big trouble and if I didn't tell him where the "shirt" was I would be going to jail at this point I was crying I was being held in front of hundreds of other shoppers I was then basically dragged back to Macy's while still being yelled at by this tall black man he left and I sat with the first man I called my mom still hysterical she calmed me down when the black man came back he said he was going to have my person searched by a woman I need to hang up my phone. Anyways I could go on for days about how embarrassing this ordeal was they figured out I didn't steal what they where looking for I guess they found it and the tall black man still smiling and showing no remorse wouldn't tell me his name his department anything. A day of shopping turned...
