In a word: fun.
I was craving a good glazed donut and I looked high and low for a local place that serves them fresh. Even though Duck Donuts is a chain, I found a lot more than a simply good glazed donut when I took a chance on Duck Donuts.
What I bought: -Cookies and cream milk shake with a cookies and cream donut on top: $7.49 -Dozen artisan donuts: $24.99 Flavors (left to right): bourbon apple bliss, coconut caramel crunch, vanilla-coconut caramel delight, bacon in the sun, sunrise, blueberry pancake, smores, chocolate explosion, beach ball, peanut butter paradise, peanut butter and jelly, piña colada. Total: $32.48
Value: If sold per donut: $2.99 Competitors: $1.09 Duck Donuts Dozen: 24.99, endless choices Their competitor: $12.00-$22.00 depending on selections
Is Duck Donuts more expensive? Yes. But the value and quality is worth the price tag if the goal is a great experience. While itâs double its biggest competitor per donut and $3.00 more expensive per dozen, they are made to order and contain high quality ingredients, such as homemade glaze and real blueberry. These donuts are artisan in nature and each one is a pocket of adventure. While Duck Donuts has an established menu to order from, they take open requests for customizations. Toppings, glazes, and even sauces can be customized. The same goes for drinks and breakfast sandwiches. Thereâs something for everyone here.
They also do not skimp on flavor and quality. The amount of toppings is generous and the donut base is light and airy - each bite is like biting into a cloud. The milkshake was well balanced and wasnât too sweet. The chocolate managed to be in every sip and it really did taste like cookies and cream. Duck Donutâs eye for detail is impressive. Each side of the donut was dressed with flavor. The cookie pieces on the milk shake were evenly spread on top so when I took the first sip, they defused evenly as the donut dropped. They even provided me with moist towelette to wipe away any resulting stickiness.
Duck Donuts is an artisan donut shop with maximalist flavors and donut designs. If you value each bite being an adventure and you like strong flavors, this donut...

Duck donuts is not just an experience for the mouth, it's an experience of the eyes and the senses. When we first walked in, we were greeted by the owner who was working the front and immediately we started smiling as he was making jokes and suggesting donuts for us. As you're looking over the menu board, your senses are inundated with the pictures of the donuts in front of you on the menu and on the boards. As you're choosing your donuts, you can hear the cooks making the donuts off to your side as they shake the sprinkle containers, laugh, and call the name of the person whose order is ready. After picking 14 donuts ranging from a cinnamon sugar to dirt dessert, We walked over and watched the donut artist perform their artistry. Unlike some places whose donuts are a far cry from the photos that you see on the menu board in front of you, let me tell you one thing, these donuts are as pretty as a picture, as you can tell since I took a photo. My family and I love these donuts and this store. They don't only sell donuts. They sell milkshakes, which come highly recommended by two members of my family and breakfast sandwiches which I would eat everyday if I could. They also sell really neat merchandise in which my daughter has two of the ducks and I will have a purple donut guy hanging off the monitor of my computer at work. In conclusion, if you have not tried this wonderful donut place because you think it's only donuts and one donut place is just like the others, you are sadly mistaken. This place is absolutely fantastic and is definitely worth a try because you will be coming back and finding yourself waving at the pink car...

Used the online website to place an order for a half dozen and two extras, coming to a little under $21 before tip and tax. Comparable to Dunkin's dozen, but the quality and variety here is what you're playing for.
They smelled fantastic and look great when I got them, though weirdly they were preparing them for delivery even though I reviewed my order and it says for "pick up" not delivery. Now they were a bit late on the uptake, about 9 minutes after the time requested, which makes it even stranger they thought it was suppose to be a delivery.
Back home the flavors were great, and interestingly, I preferred the less dressed up of the doughnuts. My take on Fried Dough, with a plain doughnut, cinnamon sugar, and powered sugar really knocked it out of the park. The rest were good, but their frosted tops created a rather thick shell, and added a tad too much sweetness to the bite. That said, all of them were my creations, even if they weren't original. Maple bacon, peanut butter and strawberry, lemon with streusel and raspberry, blueberry with powered sugar and maple, strawberry with graham cracker and vanilla, vanilla with sprinkles and blueberry, and a frosted with magic charms and peanut butter.
I will also say that these things are thick, not as thick as 518 Donuts were, but still fantastic. Oh, and of course, if you want a good donut, do NOT bother with Darling Donuts in Saratoga Springs. Come here instead, because we don't need to be supporting that...
