Been a resident here for about 4 months, and I am not happy. My central air broke 2 days ago and not only has no one been around to take a look, communication in regards to this has been severely lacking. It is summer, and far too warm to be comfortable at all. With today being a Friday and very hot temperatures expected over the weekend, I sent yet another email this afternoon to inquire and was told to call the emergency line after hours because there was no time to take a look. There was no urgency placed on the situation at all, and I find it difficult to believe maintenance was so busy that there was not any available time over the course of two full days to take a look. When I called the emergency line, I was told the supervisor was on vacation for the weekend and I could be given two window units tomorrow. Rent here is OVER 2K a month. Extremely high and I feel the comfort of residents should definitely be a priority. Parking is a complete nightmare, spots are much skinnier than a typical parking space, making accessing the vehicle extremely difficult. Best of luck if you have children or anything to remove from the side doors. Water is charged to the unit, which would be fine if it was charged from the village, but for some reason a third party utility company from California handles the water bills and the rate at which you are charged is heavily inflated, not sure why in a town that is one mile long, we can’t be billed directly. Also, I provided my gas company information and account number upon move in, as I was told this was a requirement. Imagine my confusion and surprise to receive a bill for my gas from this same company in California. One week later and many emails trying to prove my case, i was told it would be taken care of. There was a fire here 6 or so weeks ago and no communication was given as to the cause of the fire, plans to fix the damage or address any fears we may have. Fireman told me a cause but the complex is saying they don’t know, very suspicious. Complex looks absolutely awful with the fire damage and there appears to be no plans to fix things. Place is not at all Worth the cost of rent. I’m patiently awaiting my lease end to get...
Read moreThe actual apartments are nice. Fairly modern with only some annoyances. Wifi/cable is "included" however, 5mbps download speed is hardly free. Since you can always pay to "upgrade" big time. In both aspects. jump to like 50mbps and $100/month. it's your call.
Next up. The parking is horrendous. I swear there has to be like a 4:2 ratio for cars to apartment buildings. But that isn't the worst of it. The difficulty is actually finding a spot remotely near your building.
Lastly, the worst for last. Many people say they have their own power supply. So, let that reflect the cost of living there? nope.. The power goes out at least 2 times /month having you to live like a 3rd world native. They will never tell you about the maintenance or about how long it will take to be fixed. If you're going to shut off the power in winter, at least do it during the day when most people are working to afford your ludicrous pricing. That way, all we have to do is reboot some electronics, reset the clocks, and won't freeze to death at night from lack of heat....Seriously YOU PAY A LOT of money for this simply. average. place!!!
All the pros are outweighed by the cons:
The high price makes it seem like the scumbags won't get in, but, they do anyways. The location is good, but the parking ruins it. The appliances are great, but you can't use them since the power is out. SO WHY IS A 1 BEDROOM $1,300??
TL/DR: find someplace else that will treat you better, have better parking, and gives solutions to simple issues. I'd rather pay slightly more to ensure consistent parking and functional electrical, and...
Read moreI've been living here for over a year and am really disappointed. The only good aspect of living here is your delivery packages are safe, unlike most neighborhoods around Troy. We suffer from frequent water and electricity outage (the longest electricity outage lasted over 7 hours and it was on a Friday night, and the electricity recovered on 4am Saturday morning). Also, the light in the garbage room around 700 is always out. It is super scary if you go there and dispose garbage late at night. The heating system varies a lot among apartments in River's Edge. Unfortunately, my apartment does not have sufficient heating in winter and temperature drops below 70. The gentleman who works for the river's edge emergency hotline is super nice and helpful. We really appreciate him for coming to fix our heating 4:30am early in the morning when all of us were shivering in our bedrooms due to lack of heat. If you have a pretty decent vehicle and plans to live here, it is better for you to get a garage. My neighbors got so many scratches on their cars and couldn't find one to account for the damage. The apartment office will tow your AWD vehicle away even if you registered your car with them and put the plate number on the contract. They claim that to be miscommunication with the towing company and neither compensate nor apologize for everything that happened to your car. One of the lady working for River's Edge office is really friendly and helpful and she's been solving so many...
