Did not have a good experience from the moment I walked in. It was my first time..the jeweler was tending to other customers and I was "assisted" by an elderly lady. I wanted to reset my stone into another setting. I explained to her exactly what I wanted..a simple tiffany style solitaire knife edge setting in yellow gold. She looks at my ring and says..well what is this? I told her it was white gold but she seemed to doubt...until the jeweler's machine read it as white gold. She then says ok well you need to do some homework and come back and let us know exactly what setting you want. But I JUST told you what I wanted! She looked at me like I had 4 heads! I mean I asked her for the simplest of all settings and she just didnt understand or didnt want to work with me. She then started questioning whether or not I wear yellow gold?? Like If I dont then im not allowed to wear it at all? She then says well if you're going yellow then you Have to get the head in white gold. I can see why she said that (as gold heads make a stone look more yellow) but what if thats mot what i want. She proceeds to question me on WHY I want a 4 prong and not and six prong for key round stone. I told her that I liked the way the 4 prong didntake it looks completely round from certain angles...that I liked square shapes as well. But I dont understand why I needed to explain my wants to her? I then asked her if they had any brochures that i can look at and show her exactly what I meant. She responds "oh honey I dont have time for that right now and neither do you", as she proceeded to grab a huge book. I told her that i didnt need to look through the entire book...I JUst needed to look at settings.I dont know what kind of planet this lady is from but im sure ANY jewelry business is aware of what a solitaire setting is! Given her age and the face that she was NOT a jeweler I didnt see the need to raise my voice. But I was hoping the actual jeweler would chime in and assist. But all he did was proceeded to write down a website for me to look at. Being new to the area and given the fact that this place had so many 5 star reviews I decided to give them a chance and support a local business. However I'm so disappointed to say that I will not be returning and giving them my business. There are other reputable jewelers around. Ill do my searching and find a place that will work with me and help deliver something that I want..not what they think I need. If u need a watch repaired or something like that this may be a good stop. Updated* Response from owner says a lot about customer service. Everyone is entitled to their opinion! Positive reviews are not the only ones that...
Read moreTerrible customer service, went in because I had an issue with my watch band, and was told there was nothing he could do, he didn't even want to look at it. I wanted a new band and he was completely not interested on helping me at all. I went there because he is a small town jeweler, what a mistake. What jeweler doesn't want to make a sale especially with the way the economy is. I will never recommend him, or step foot is his place again ! As to the reply -- this was no watch with a plastic band at all, you must have given bad service to someone else also, this was a major brand gold watch !! Thats why I went to a small jeweler expecting a higher quality experience and knowledge -- obviously NOT ! I also wasn't replying about what you stock, I wasn't expecting you to have it in stock, I was commenting about your horrible attitude...
