Meh. First time and likely last time for infrared sauna. No notice that a first time sauna client is bound to ONLY a 35 minute session. Sauna cutoff midway through session. Any sauna enthusiast knows this is a killjoy. Personnel assured me it didn’t seize temp but as an avid sauna user, I knew better. My remaining 15 minutes was lamer than the first 20. Sauna itself seems more basic consumer/home use than commercial. There was no heat from the bottom/floor, up. Also lacked overall, consistent power. It read 169 when I stepped in but it definitely wasn’t and when it cut off (coils went dark) temp dropped rapidly to 160. 169 is HOT. Nothing about the sauna was remotely unbearable. I exited my session with NO drip. That never happens in my saunas that max in the upper 150s. Barely broke a sweat. No drip at all. Not the norm for me. Staff is nice enough bit underwhelming. Its a wellness center yet nobody shared any insight re sauna…nor anything else. Total miss. I’m a wellness girlie. Engage me. That’s why you’re there. No??? Zero relaxation. You will hear staff randomly talking and music from what I gathered was for clients indulging in cryotherapy. When I sauna its for zen. Not to hear another person’s tunes. Bathroom had no TP both times I used it. Its all in the details. No TP is a huge fail…especially when its not even that busy and there is ample staff. It’s a very clinical type vibe. Not at all spa like. So don’t expect such. Reviews depict a shower for sauna and mind had none. Infrared is lacking. Two small overhead lights. Minimal coverage/delivery…just like the heat… Asked at checkout if I wanted a package but didn’t ask how my sauna was. How you do one thing is how you do everything…thats how I see it when it comes to business. Not connecting with your client is bad business. You leave money on the table and for your client, much to be desired. I already felt cheated because there was no disclosure at booking, that my session was less time as a new client, then at checkout nobody asks how my session was. Yea…I see staff cares less. How to not gain a repeat client 101. Spot was neat. Appeared clean. Staff nice. Sauna, not good. Makes me feel some reviews are bogus. I tried this place bc my usual was booked for early appointments. I will not cheat on my usual again. From staff to actual sauna, they totally trump this place. It’s not even close. For 5 dollars more I can get 45 min, a shower, alkaline water, comfort, zen and better staff. I usually do an hour at my usual spot in NYC. It’s 75.00 and based on my experience at this chain quagmire, worth every penny. Today was a total waste of time and money. I booked wanting and needed a swear detox and got nothing but a few sweat beads in a very blah setting. Anyone thinking RHW is top tier, hasn’t experienced true sauna gold. Sauna involves sweat. Infrared sauna involves light coverage. Both nonexistent here. And the clinical decor/vibe is definitely ugh. Zero aesthetic that encourages wellness/zen vibe. Felt like urgent care. The entire vibe is cookie cutter, franchise meh. If you enjoy such, then this is perfect for you. Pictures are before and after. I’ve never done sauna in excess of 30 minutes with essentially zero drip and visible wetness. I sweat. No health issues and even with a slower starting sweat at times, I get there and I SWEAT. This place, two measly drips. The last two pics are my usual place with way better infrared and a sweat about 30min into a 60...
Read moreI have only been going to Restore in Scarsdale for about two months now usually once, sometimes twice a week for services and it is one of the highlights of my week. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and the space is very clean, comfortable and peaceful. I initially started going for weight loss, but realized I needed much more in my wellness journey. So far I've tried all of the core services and just had my fitst IV drip yesterday and I'm feeling pretty good. I have not had any of the estitician services yet, but I'm sure I will soon.
While the services are great, I must say that the staff is tremendous. Everyone from the GM, Jen, the front desk staff Victoria and especially the nurses Michelle and Patrick. My mom passed away last month when I first joined, so I was emotionally very "raw" and when I shared with them what I was feeling they listened to me, and provided me comfort. It was unexpected, but greatly appreciated.
If I could afford to do something...
Read moreRestore gave me a birthday gift, and I started using their Compression services as part of my training recovery. I’m excited to learn more about Restore's offerings, including cryotherapy and red light therapy.
