Came here today for lunch, enjoyed everything there. The store entry itself is a little packed due to covid dividers, but once you're at the front you can place your order with the VERY friendly staff.
There also isn't any menu for you to look at while in line (there is a small menu on the right side of the entrance but it's easy to miss), so keep that in mind as you'll have access to the menu once you reach the front desk.
We ordered a katsu curry and a vegan miso ramen with two bubble teas, coming out to about 40 dollars all together, not bad.
Food came out faster than the drinks which is the first time that's ever happened to me. Portions were good and the quality of the food was amazing. I would come back here every day if I could. The chicken katsu curry was some of the most lightly crisp savory cuts I've ever had, better than most places I've tried in Manhattan. The curry sauce really compliments the dish, some of the best I've tried.
My GF got a vegan miso ramen and loved it as well, as far as I can tell it was equally high quality.
They also have a loyalty card in case you come back often (which I plan on doing when possible) and there's also a Japanese grocery store attached, where you can find Japanese spices, snacks, and drinks.

Read moreLocation: very hole in the wall. You almost miss it. It's inside of a food mart, which honestly looks like the backside of a building where they throw out the trash. But I love it. Un-noticeable.
Service: once you enter the mart, there's things on the shelfs you can buy. To the left is the guy who takes your order for Musashi. You pick from the menu, he gives you a receipt after you pay, then you wait inside for your order #. The guy who took my order seemed caring. He asked others if they needed more sauce. I didn't need much help. You literally just wait for your order # then eat.
Food: Excellent. I got the spicy ramen. It was definitely spicy. You can add more spice through powder. It was really delicious, lots of flavor. I also ordered the boneless chicken appetizers. Really good too.
Atmosphere: looks like a typical Chinese restaurant vibe, but with anime stuff all over. I loved it. It was quiet, I went on a Sunday. Only a few people there. Looked clean. Tables and chairs were decent. I watched an episode of One Piece, Wano Arc, while eating ramen. What more could you ask for?
Altogether highly recommend. Single payer, with appetizer and a small ice tea, plus tip,...
Read moreBecause Kishuya on Central Park Ave closes for that ridiculous siesta every afternoon, we had to find another place to do Ramen nearby. I found this Musashi place in a Google search and I can't tell how disappointing it was to discover this grocery store/Ramen joint. In short, it's way too full priced to justify it's spare atmosphere, peeling wallpaper, dirty tables and no table service. Nor is it cheap enough to justify cheap ingredients and hard Grizzly slices of pork that we were told would be 'pork belly'. I don't often use the word disgusting but I will say the leftover, refrigerated taste of hard pork slices pretty much rendered this Ramen inedible. For less money with tip, I've never had a bad or inconsistent dish at Kishuya. A huge waste of money and time. I'm sorry I found it but if my bad experience steers you into a better place, I'm okay with that. And if you go through with eating here, when you busy paying at the grocery store counter avoid 15 and 18 and 20 and 25% tips at checkout. What exactly would you be tipping for at a dirty self-service...
