Hutchinson Farms — Local services in Town of Eastchester

Years ago when I first visited Hutchinson Farms store on the Post Road in Scarsdale, I asked the owner if indeed there was a farm where he picked his vegetables and he assured me that there was an actual farm! He pointed to the painting on the wall of his store that showed off a beautiful farm. I thought this might have been the explanation for his high prices but it probably had more to do with the rent he paid as well as his profit margins. I think I asked him again a few years later when I realized that perhaps I had been just a little bit naive! Having said that, I still shop at his fruit and vegetable shop and even though his prices are significantly higher than the supermarkets, there is a huge convenience factor of not having to go to a bigger grocery store. Hutchinson Farms does carry impressive selection of prepared cooked vegetables and soups. Hutchinson Farms is brilliantly situated next door to Eastchester Fish. I’ve often gone into his store to get fresh dill or some other fresh herb that will make my fish a little more delicious! And there’s a metered parking lot...

We visited Hutchinson Farms for the first time recently and - WOW! It's a cozy shop absolutely packed with the best produce in Westchester. We were warmly greeted by the staff, they introduced themselves and told us that the shop had been in operation for nearly 50 years, and the owner himself, Michael, worked 7 days a week driving to farms throughout the region, hand selecting all of the produce daily. Five stars isn’t enough for Hutchinson Farms! The fruit here is truly unmatched—always fresh, flavorful, and far superior to anything you’d find in a supermarket. Though it’s a bit out of the way for me, every visit is well worth it. The produce lasts beautifully and tastes amazing.
