This place is generally good but don't expect good service if you have a problem.
We had picked out a color, and went a few weeks before with one bridesmaid who couldn't make it to see what she liked and it was all good. A few days before the appointment we noticed online that the color we picked wasn't showing up anymore, and I wondered if that would be a problem but I figured we would find out and even if it was discontinued or would probably be okay. The day before the appointment, we called to confirm the appointment and specifically mentioned wanting the color and nothing was said over the phone about it being unavailable. We went in for the appointment, and had to wait 10 or so minutes after our start time which in hindsight was probably because the color was discontinued and they had to figure out what to do. We didn't know that at the moment though, because after 15 minutes of waiting in the store did they finally tell us that it would be difficult to find dresses that were all the same color. The store manager was helping us because of this problem, and after telling us this she immediately asked what we thought. We told her we needed a minute, and she just kept looking at us before realizing we needed her to walk away for a minute so we could talk. We made it clear that we just weren't happy with any of the other colors and mostly weren't happy with any of the styles that might be possible. The store manager was all about making the sale, because she just tried to keep making different suggestions after we made it clear we weren't compromising and were mostly just looking at styles. At one point, they grabbed the swatch of the discontinued color and took it away. We asked for it back, and they were trying to argue that there was no reason to want it back because it was discontinued. We told her that we wanted it because we paid for it and we wanted to reference the color, and we had to keep arguing for her to give it back until she finally did. Overall, an annoying situation was made much worse by the pushy sales manager who did a bad job giving us space and listening to what we were saying. Generally, even if you might not end up buying from a place the sales person still tries to be helpful to find what you like. Not here though. Not buying from here both because of the situation where cutting a color means it's basically unavailable within two weeks and because of the very poor service skills. Read moreThis morning, the bride forwarded me this email from you for the THIRD time. We have now had three dress alteration cancellations and I am appalled. The first cancelation was absolutely handled poorly as we were already in the parking lot of the store when we received the message that they would be unable to see us THAT DAY! Then the alterations lady we spoke to that day was horrible. She degraded the store manager and the staff saying they should have never scheduled the brides' alterations when they did., She proceeded to say that she could have the brides dress altered in ONE day and we needed to calm down about y'all getting it done. Did she forget the business she is in? ITS WEDDINGS, it's stressful, it's supposed to be happy. I also don't want the brides wedding dress that we spent a lot of money on at your establishment cut up and altered in one day. That is not saying very much either. The same alterations lady told me to take the bride somewhere to calm her down and then bring her back and she would just get it done. (Did I mention this was all over the phone while we were sitting in the parking lot of your store?) This was after I told her we had people there with us and the bride was upset. Do NOT tell me to calm the bride down when she has every right to be upset at how Davids Bridal has handled this entire situation. This is COMPLETELY unprofessional. Then we said no thank you to the very quick, just come in then, and you offered us a discount and rescheduled us.
That appointment was supposed to be on April 13th. THAT appointment then got cancelled and rescheduled to today, April 21st. You have once again cancelled the brides dress fitting for the THIRD time and her wedding is in 47 days!!!!!! This leaves very little room for adjustments or error! I am very upset as is the Bride. This should not be happening. What I would like to know is if all weddings are being told no? How can this happen? What discount will we be offered now? Can I call a different Davids Bridal location to have this completed WITH the discount? This will be the last opportunity we will be giving Davids's bridal of Appleton, WI to fix this. Read moreAfter hyping up how well this place did my alterations for my wedding dress, My sister and I walked in with such high hopes yesterday. From the get-go, The alterations team was all about fitting my sister into the dress instead of fitting the dress to my sister. They immediately started asking if she was going to wear shapewear or wear a bra with her dress which she didn't want to so she said no. They told her that she would need to get a corset style bra or a bustier and that would suck everything that needs to be sucked in in. When I explain that she and I are both plus size women and that I haven't even been able to find one they directed us to Lane Bryant and told us that multiple women always get theirs there. I asked what the plan b was in case that wasn't going to become a reality and I was ignored and tuned out multiple times. They did nothing to discuss her loose straps or even discuss the bustle. My sister was simply sent on her way to get this unicorn piece of clothing and then they would begin alterations which you would make a separate appointment for but not too far out because she's getting married in September. So we went over to Lane Bryant where we were told that they did not have that bra for the last couple of years in store or online. I called David's Bridal back and spoke to someone in alterations and asked them what else they suggested, she said I would suggested to go to Victoria's secret and check there... Victoria's secret does not carry our size as it is widely known. My sister left David's Bridal completely defeated, her self-esteem crushed, and crying in frustration and anxiety. No bride should ever leave a bridal shop in tears. The alterations team at this location should be ashamed of themselves and the way that they talk to their brides. We made an appointment in Green Bay today and they said they have been getting a lot of complaints from the Appleton location and I can totally understand why after yesterday's interaction.
