I am sorry to report that I am so disappointed in Dr Kalu at this location. I went in to see her re a contact a prescription she gave me that was burning my right eye. Instead of wanting to examine my eyes, she told me to call the lab or talk to the manager who was out that day. I don’t understand how a dr cannot show empathy to a patient needing her help. I’ve always had nice things to say about Dr. Kalu even with het rushed.manner at times , but clearly she was having a bad day and she took it out on me. Instead of listening to this patient or calmly explaining things to me she went fm 1-10 in an emotional outburst not even 5 minutes in her chair. She opened the door and stopped treating me. She made no attempt to make peace bec her PRIDE to be right is bigger than her empathy . I left without having my eyes examined properly for a burning pinching contact. She did not care and I’m sadly shocked as expected better fm her. In my complaint to CORPORATE, I was so careful to not want to get anyone in trouble bec everyone needs a job and I put the focus on the contact issue but never to hurt her in anyway.Today I’m calling the freeport location. To talk to manger about my re order to get contacts as the trials never burgers my eyes before this crappy labs lot ,I’ve was told the Dr no longer wants to treat me as a patient which tells you EVERYTHING about who was right and who was wrong ! Clearly, Dr. Kalu’s way of solving problems is to make the other person, the problem! Not even does this location want to take any responsibility for the product that they get from the lab and they want to blame it on third-party Lab when they’re selling the product to you as a. Customer Clearly it’s easier for Dr Kalu Yo just DISMISSpatient then to admit she Overreacted Very disappointed this doctor couldn’t have exercised more wisdom and kindness. My low rating here has nothing to do with the lovely manager at this location Sophia who’s always been so humble and sweet and kind. I think the doctor should take some lessons from people that don’t have a medical degree because clearly she thinks because she has one she can abuse her power to dismiss patients from her...
Read moreI can’t even begin to thank this locations staff enough!! Let me start this by saying i’ve only had to have glasses the past few years (frequent migraines and staring at screens all day) Went to Eye world optics i think it’s called in Freeport last June-July the people there were rude and gave me the wrong glasses. Anyway came here to America’s Best and i have to say almost everyone was sweet, kind and helpful. The exception being the front desk girl Tatianna, she was a little rude when we asked if we could sit down she looked at us as if to say “if you have to” we ignored her and moved on. They have pre testers that work with the doctor to basically get you started I had Pat and my mom had Joy both two of the sweetest women I have ever met explained everything and told us what to discuss with the dr in regards to the above issues with the other place. Dr. Kalu was another sweet woman it took her two minutes to figure out why my old glasses were better than my new ones (the ones from the above place) they didn’t give me anti-glare glasses which could’ve easily helped me but she found it and said they will be extra but they’re really going to help you. She was so kind and explained everything to me. Everything was cleaned and neat it was amazing. David checked me out and he must’ve been new because the manager Jeff helped him with everything. David was kind and funny and i appreciate all his help. Jeff was a little rude in front of me to David which i thought wasn’t right, i’m sure he was training him I just think there’s a way to talk to your employees in front of customers. I walked out spending less than $150 and was super happy! Thank you to all the staff at this location, will be recommending a lot of people your way. Best was i was in and out in less...
Read moreLet me just say, if you’re not going to America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses in Freeport, NY, what are you even doing with your life? This place is IT, and the MVP of the whole operation is Kenley. I’ve been here a couple of times, and every single time, Kenley has been a total rockstar. But my most recent visit? ICONIC.
So here I am, thinking I need a whole new pair of glasses (cue the drama). Turns out, I just needed my current glasses (from over a year ago, no less) adjusted because, surprise, I never came back to get them fitted properly. Classic me. Kenley, with his top-tier humor and customer service finesse, had me cracking up while making my glasses fit like a glove. Seriously, who knew getting glasses adjusted could feel like a VIP experience?
And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Kenley casually guided me over to the sale rack, and honey, let me tell you—I walked out with not one, not two, but THREE pairs of Ray-Bans. Wicked cool, and now I have enough shades to stunt on everyone I know. My old glasses fit like a dream, I have three new pairs of Ray-Bans to flex, and I left happier than a kid with a candy stash.
Bottom line: If you need glasses, want some epic Ray-Bans, or just enjoy amazing customer service with a side of humor, go see Kenley at America’s Best in Freeport. He’s the real deal, and you’ll walk out feeling like a...
