I am a bride who got married August 2018. I will begin this review by telling you all the good interactions I have had with this company. Yvone who is the person I spoke with who handled all photography and albums. My conversations with her were always quick and easy. She always had a response and was able to keep me up to speed with each part of the picture picking process to the day my album was printed. She allowed me to make some changes when my initial layout was sent to me and asked me if all was good before she made the print. She even gave me a complimentary picture to hang. The reason I gave this company a 5 star rating is because Yuvone is great and the work is amazing. I ask my readers to keep this name in mind when in conversation with Max Studios.
I will now go forward and explain my situation with two individuals named May Chen and Annie Chen. After receiving my albums I was then passed on to these two above mentioned women. I was told that they deal with all videography and edits that need to be made for my videos. On February 12, 2019 I reached out to them asking for any updates on my highlights and video, your probably wondering why I waited so long to ask but it is because I was told that it takes about 5-6 months to do video edits prior. May Chen responded and said that my highlights and video is ready. When she sent me the link and I opened the file, I found it crazy that the video had no edits all of it was grainy and blurry. Their was no transition with the songs nor the actual video., it looked like an armature put it together. I asked May if this was the wrong link as it does not look done professionally at all. She responded and said any additional edits and changes that I wanted I have to pay for it. This conversation kept going back and forth and it took about a year for her to finally attempt to make any changes. At this time her responses became less frequent and she kept ignoring more of my calls. Annie then took over and as I communicated with her she kept saying that more money will get you what you were looking for as my contract only says one edit after the first link is sent to me. I read over my contract and there is no such clause in it. Annie and May were rude and very disrespectful each time I was able to get a hold of them. Eventually all communication went MIA and I was ignored only to find out that Max Studios went out of business. I found them on Instagram and when May realized that I am a client from before she blocked me. She is still trying to run a business under the same name so be aware.
Almost three years later I was able to finally get in touch with Yvone who helped me get my video. I found out that May and Annie are no longer a part of Max Studios and the new store front is in Flushing. Please visit them and use Max for all your needs, however, be aware of Annie and May as they are still trying to run the same business under the same name. Be sure to find the right Max Studio on IG and not the one that Annie and May are running. Although my video is still not up to par and no edits were made, I am able to at least thank Yvonne who was able to find the link for my video and put it on a flash. Once again be aware of May and Annie, do not work with them as they will con you into paying a big amount of money and provide you with...
Read moreMy husband and I hired MaxPhoto NY for photography and cinematography on our wedding date of May 19, 2018. The day was so special to me and my husband. Unfortunately it was heavily raining that day, but Max's team did such an outstanding job that it never even looked like it rained that day. We asked for drones 1 week before the wedding, and despite the rain, Max and his team was able to incorporate the drone footage so beautifully into the full wedding and highlight video. Max and his team of 5-6 people worked tirelessly the entire day for us (13 hours) for both photography and videography. The 13 hour day was assembled into a 2.5 hour cinematography movie, and we absolutely loved how it turned out. The rainy day was turned into a magical day by Max and his team, and the beautiful video that was created by them for us was amazing. We received a DVD for the full wedding (videography and cinematography) and highlight videos, all the photos (including a photo booth) electronically, and 3 beautiful albums that were assembled for us. The albums were so beautiful, and we clearly were able to see the creativity that the team had in putting it together. My husband and I were so grateful to Max's team, and I cannot thank them enough for making the day so memorable. The pricing was also superb considering all the work they did for us to make that day so special. Special thank you to Yvonne also, for making all the last minute requests for us especially the drone footage, I look back at it and it is so memorable for us. Each anniversary, my husband and I watch our wedding video, and it is so special to us. We are so happy we chose Max Photo NY for that day. I would highly recommend Max Photo NY for all photography and videography/cinematography especially for a wedding, since it suppose to be so memorable for all. We love...
Read moreComing from the mother of the bride, they were a disgrace!! The day of the ceremony, when asked to take photos of the bride prior to the groom's arrival (he & his family had already been photographed for several hrs), we were told "no because the man of the hr wasn't there". Needless to say unless the groom was in the photo, there are barely any photos of just the bride or any photos of her family. Oh & by the way, the bride paid for the photographer!! The day of the reception was no better. Again, no photos of the guests on the bride's side, unless they happen to force themselves into the photo or if they happen to be standing next to the groom's family. There are so many photos where people's heads or other important parts were cut off. Groom's shoes were being out put on by a family member & they cut off the leg from the knee down. You can't see much of the person whose placing the shoes on his feet because most of him was cut off as well. Tons of photos of people's backs. Several candid shots of people, including the bride looking awkward. Mouth wide open or some other odd expression. They didn't think & frame it out before they took a photo. Just snapped away without thought. The photos of the couple taken outside, look fake. They look like they were pasted on a fake background. These photos were supposed celebrate the union of a woman & man, as well as their families. THIS WAS ANYTHING BUT THAT!! For anyone looking for a photographer, I am URGING you do NOT use them. Your wedding day is a one time event, that can not be repeated or fixed & these people did not create a beautiful memory for the couple or their family to...
