AVOID ORDERING ANY CUSTOM CAKE ORDERS FROM HERE! My experience was absolutely horrible. Working in customer service I absolutely always emphasize the importance of transparency with customers. I placed a custom cake order for my baby shower and was extremely disappointed with how my order came out. As you can tell from the cake I picked it looks nothing comparable to the images I sent to the baker. I contacted him numerous times prior to my pickup date to ensure the design I wanted and trimming were all going to be included I even went as far as editing a picture and marking exactly where I expected a trimming. The day before my event I verified my design and contacted him and he said I never mentioned certain details in my intial text when I was in fact very clear and transparent. The cake was extremely extremely sloppy for all I paid it looks like I could’ve done it. The gradient effect of the ombré doesn’t even match the inspiration picture. Not to mention when I went to pickup the cake the few clouds (that I requested to be all over the cake not just on the top tier) were literally falling down and slanted. Mind you the clouds falling down happened while in their care I had just came to pick up the cake for my event. They boxed up the cake before I was there and only reason why I even saw how much of a mess up this cake was because I requested they unbox the cake and show me it. Absolutely will never order from here again and advise others not to as well. When I texted the baker regarding the my order all I got told was “sorry we can take care of you at your next purchase” will definitely not be giving this place my business. If I could rate this place a 0 I would. I requested if I could get partially refunded then got told the cake doesn’t look how I need it to cause it’s still in the box and they needed a picture of it flat when you can clearly tell from the pickup photos how sloppy it looks !!! I am warning everyone to NOT order from here. I ordered a very simple birthday cake for my sister’s birthday. She had an accident that left her permanently disabled and this was her first birthday back home and I wanted to make it special for her. So when I was quoted $125, I was surprised but again I love my sister a lot so I bought it. I texted the baker (who only responds at odd times btw) that I want it EXACTLY like the picture. No name, no number and just happy birthday. Day of, I get no update about when the cake is coming until I inquired about it. I gave them a window of 3-6PM and the delivery person came at 5:45. The cake does not say Happy Birthday. I am appalled as I already paid for the cake and they said the best they can do is give me two free cupcakes or go to the nearby location and fix it. I took the second option and they didn’t have white icing at the nearby location and had to go to their WESTBURY location that’s thirty minutes away from. This means I got the cake an hour later than I originally wanted. I had family leaving at 6:30 and this is why I wanted the cake before then. The baker was rude and so was the delivery person. When I complained about the price being to high for the mistake that was done the baker said “I don’t know why you’re telling me this”. When I complained about the time coming from Westbury to the delivery person, she said “well I can’t fly back can I?” Very very VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and they have officially lost me and my relatives as customers. PLEASE don’t make the same mistake as me and prepay for the cake for full in advance. The cake was not worth the money or the headache. They fixed the cake and the “happy birthday” wasn’t even centered. I’m attaching what I wanted vs. what I got and a screenshot of how the baker treated me after THEIR mistake. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I called layers bakeshop out of desperation less than 24 hours before my daughter’s bday due to another baker cancelling on me last minute. I was able to get in touch with Bill who confirmed he could help me. I sent him pictures of what I envisioned with little expectations of it looking the way I wanted since it was so last minute. BUT…Bill worked magic and not only made my daughters 20 amazing soccer themed cupcakes…they were also sooooooooo delicious. Everyone, including the kids, complimented how great they tasted. I will definitely come back. The price was very fair and they did not charge me extra for the last minute request.
