On July 25, I went to this salon for a butterfly locs which the owner said was $150.00 without hair being included but I was charged $200.00 instead. The owner is very nice & professional.
However, a hair stylist named Laura is very rude, obnoxious & very unprofessional. She doesnāt believe in doing what customers want & requested. Despite asking her before starting my hair to part them small, yet she didnāt. I repeatedly asked her to part my hair small, she continued styling my hair how she wanted. After realizing she wasnāt going to do what I asked, I then asked her to at least part the front small to no avail.
Subsequently, the owner had to intervene & requested another hairstylist who is of African descent to finish my hair but she refused and the owner did nothing.
I needed to buy more hair as the quantity I brought with me was insufficient. The hairstylist suggested that I took a picture of the hair. I asked her for the package to take a picture & she directed me to a garbage can to retrieve it. I tried to explain to Laura that the package is better as it has all of the information needed written on it. She refused to get the package from the garbage. I eventually got up from the seat & retrieved the package myself.
The owner had to talk her into finishing my hair. After she was forced to complete my hair, she came back to the station with an attitude & picked up a dirty towel of the floor & put it on my shoulder. I confronted her & removed the dirty towel of my shoulder.
The front of my hair wasnāt done well as she didnāt meshed the locs with the extension. She cut on side shorter & left the back long.
I had to ask my relative to fix the cut upon returning home.
I was very disappointed & unhappy with the service. I would recommend any of the other stylist but Laura.

You quoted me $150.00 for butterfly locs shoulder length. As we know, the butterfly locs are already made with exact length. I didnāt have any braiding done which requires stylist to braid to length. The locs come already made & all she had to do was to insert the locs to my hair. I asked her to cut locs to my shoulder & which she messed up badly. The cutting of my locs didnāt worth $50.00 which you added to the original agreed quote.
Now, itās her words against mine. As I told you, prior to sitting on the chair, I requested that she parted the front of my hair small to cover my scalp which she ignored. Lastly, my niece had the same hair style done in NJ & paid $240.00. Hers was done from scratch & the stylist provided her with the hair. He was so disrespectful to me today after he made an error. He agreed to cancel my appointment and refund the deposit. I called him a week in advance to cancel the appointment. Instead of him saying that he made a mistake, he decided to be disrespectful. He says multiple times that he didnāt want me to come back. I will not be back. However, save your money and find a place who values their customers. I was so shocked at his disrespect! Iām sure he will try to lie and say that he doesnāt have record of me being a customer. I have included the confirmation email to the appointment that he was supposed to cancel. I have never received such disrespect from a business that Iāve spent money with before. Please do yourself a favor and believe the reviews about his character. He does not appreciate his customers business. Awful customer service and he is rude! The best thing he has going for him is the positive experiences Iāve had with the stylist. I wonāt be spending another dime with his rude self.
You returned my deposit after I disputed the charge with my bank. Also, I hung up the phone on you because you were being so disrespectful to me. I was not going to continue to be disrespected . I handled it with my bank instead.Please donāt be fooled by the PR response . It is very different than the unnecessary disrespect that I received over the phone. I attempted to de-escalate this manās confrontational behavior multiple times. The fake PR response is to trick other consumers into paying their hard earned money. Donāt fall for it! Heās extremely rude and nasty for no reason. Also, it wasnāt about the $40. Itās the principle! You honor your word as a business owner. Also, you acknowledge YOUR mistake . That ā$40ā wonāt add up to the money that Iāve spent with your business in the past. Including my personal information in the response, was a passive aggressive move! It was intentional. I even took my son to get his first haircut there he wasn't quite ready but they had the patience to help me & my child, even worked with me to bring him during the week each day to warm him up to the barbers and to finally get a haircut. They are transparent and genuinely honest the staff is a reflection of their awesome manger. I see comments about wait time etc, I can say I'm always told there's going to be a wait, while waiting they do come and check on you, assuring you, you will get serviced and apologize this is known before even booking an appointment and sometimes if you're lucky when someone cancels an early appointment they call you back to come sooner that your appointment. The staff is so kind and attentive. I love the nail techs I don't even have a favorite, I appreciate them tremendously for great reasons, their work ethic and great jobs on my nails. I wish I was so rich so I can tip them more. They're great humanitarians and love what they do, it's not just a passion nor a job to them. Their work shows great results. The manager has a great staff and supporting team, doesn't seem like they'll hire just anybody. Everyone in the establishment is honest & speaks up before servicing anyone even if you book your appointment you're asked reviewing from what you wanted before attempting to start servicing you, so there's no confusion or miscommunication. I tell friends, colleagues,family, strangers who compliment my nails about this place, it's my therapy when I'm not at my best my visits are always great and memorable, it keep me in such a good mood better than being home & sulking.
