The UPS Store — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Really disappointed with my experience here. Immediately when I walk in, I am not greeted, but told "let's go" by the woman at the counter. I put my item down, which is sealed and secured and the entire exterior of the parcel is sealed with packing tape, and the woman, who clearly had no interest in providing a smooth customer experience proclaims "nope, not taking it like that" due to the odd shape of the parcel. Instead of kindly explaining to my why of the dozens of times I've shipped items with UPS, that this would be the first time they wouldn't take my box as is, she instead tried to charge me $5 to repackage my item. Ok…so I live literally a 5 min walk to the Long Beach UPS….BUT that being said, I have NEVER been in Long Beach without them trying to scam me into buying a box for a delivery that does not need a box! The staff at Long Beach is very nice but they say the owner is the one who tries to scam people!

Now to WANTAGH… CLEAN, ORGANIZED, SUPER FRIENDLY, NEVER tries to scam anyone… Prices are great, staff in EXCELLENT!! I spoke with the mgr today & expressed how much I enjoyed his store & his staff… Customers care about price but understand that in todays world, businesses need to survive & do what it takes but WE also see when businesses are trying to rip people off (LONG BEACH)

This review is 3 months overdue, but back in June, Laurie went above and beyond for my order. Side-note - the staff at this location always impresses me with their friendliness and efficiency. But Laurie must be recognized. I needed over 200 printouts for my best friends Bridal Shower, and she personally called me to let me know she would be sending the order to a different UPS, and personally PICK THEM UP, because the paper quality was better over there. I mean, who does that? And she offered! I was so blown away. I have seen her at Wantagh since then, and she always has a positive attitude, which is probably why the rest of the staff operates the way...
