Ridgewood Station Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

My husband and I stopped in today (Monday at 2pm) to order take out. We had our 3 month old with us. We were hoping she would be decent enough for us to stay to eat our lunch but as this was our first restaurant outting with her we weren’t so hopeful.

Flash forward to the waterworks and trying to quickly gather our stuff so we could wait outside for the food to finish.

A man that I presume was the owner asked us to stay and if we wanted to sit in their empty party room so we could eat even if she was having a tough time. How thoughtful. As first time parents these firsts are always stressful and this kind man and our waiter Danny couldn’t have been sweeter, more understanding and accommodating.

Came with my family for a quick dinner out. Found it by doing a Google search. The menu was not the same that came up on Google. More limited. That was the only downside. The menu is the same as is posted on their own website. If I had seen that one I may not have chosen this place. But was happy with it...and fit exactly what we were looking for at the time. We sat right down and the bartender allowed us to sit wherever we wanted. Food arrived quickly, all at once as we asked, and very hot. My wife and daughter split an order of chicken fingers. I recently discovered this hidden gem one lonely Saturday night whilst on the brink of depression and isolation. As I entered this lovely establishment I came across a young and handsome bartender Eric. He greeted me as if I was one of his life long friends. After a few well made drink and delicious food I really got to know this man. I found out Eric is an aspiring artist who has got what the kids call “bars” and he also volunteers at the local soup kitchens in town to give back to the community. Thank you Eric for all you have done for me and the community, the world is certainly a better place with you. Can’t wait to “turn up” on thanksgiving eve with you and your friends.
