Unfortunately, I would have gave this store a high rating unless they did not steal my FUR NORTH FACE PULLOVER that I attempted to sell today. The store opened at 11-I dropped one singular bag off at 11:05- and by 11:45am, it was gone. When I arrived to pick up my stuff, the girl gave me every gaslighting excuse in the book, i.e "Maybe it's still in your car, maybe it slipped out on the way out, maybe it was STOLEN by somebody else" (aka the employees). I knew GOOD AND WELL the pullover was the VERY FIRST ITEM in the bag. They even tried to blame me, saying that if it was at the top of the bag, somebody could have taken it. So apparently, if you leave your stuff in the store, it's YOUR fault if it get's stolen. What's so funny is, I sold a black fur northface a month ago when the MANAGER was there, and everything went smoothly. Now that the manager was NOT there, somehow my north face simply could not be found, and I was made out to be the idiot. Not just that, NOT A SINGULAR EMPLOYEE TRIED TO LOOK FOR IT ONCE I SAID IT WAS GONE. They were all extremely unbothered. Plato's Closet, you owe me $100 for the North Face pullover, as it was left in YOUR store and it is YOUR responsibility to make sure nobody "steals it", whether it be a random person or an actual EMPLOYEE. Because my item did not grow legs and walk out on its' own. Needless to say I...
Read morei called before i went asked what they were buying and was told mens long sleeve shirts and pants. they also said purses/handbags, jewlery, shoes, assories of any kind, womens long skirts. took 2 full bags today, filled brand new mens shirts pants never worn, or open. tags on and all. shoes that were only worn about maybe 2 times and some shoes that were never open or worn. i has brought over 6 handbags some never used, unopen belts and scarves and 1 long womens jean skirt. out of everything they only took 2 items for about 8 dollars.
not very impressed for the first time trying to sell to them or going there. i live over 40 mins from that store and went there really for no reason.
per their website they take clean in good condition, and new. per the website says no stains, no fading or excessive wear and tear. they said that some items had some wear and tear. which according to the website some is okay but cannot be excessive. some were not on the list to accept. all the items i took there were very much all items they would accept and in good/new condition
i am not sure if i will try again. seems pointless and not a good experience for the first time. i should of listened to some of the reviews that warned it was not worth it
i would say just be careful as it may not be...
Read moreI stopped going to this place years ago and now I remember why. I was told yesterday over the phone that they always accept free people/Anthropologie clothing, I go in with bags of clothes including those brands and was turned away. The clothes in there look terrible but refuse your well kept items if there is a mere scratch or something is slightly wrinkled. This is a second hand clothing store, I absolutely do not understand their rules/guidelines as to what they accept due to the fact that when you walk in, every single piece of merchandise looks worse than anything in the lost and found bin. It’s a joke that they advertise that they want to buy your designer bags, like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc, how are they even thoroughly authenticating the designer items they want to buy from you to sell to others?? It would be much better to go to reputable consignment shop or just selling your items privately yourself because this place gives you next to nothing if you’re lucky enough to have anything accepted from them. I really wish there was another business that was a better version of this place close by that actually made sense and wasn’t a frustrating experience ever. Single. time. Listen to everyone else’s reviews and DO NOT waste any of your time here. I will...
