I'm not surprised to see the 5-star reviews. These are salesman selling beds and they are good at selling. But what happens when something goes wrong? They don't care at all. Well, "someone" at the store sure doesn’t.
I spent nearly 7K on a mattress and 2 bases. On the first delivery attempt--by a third-party and not the "white glove" service they promise you--one of the bases was broken so I refused delivery. OK, it happens. It took some arm-pulling to get that someone at the store to put a rush on a replacement. He told me that not only was the base broken, but the mattress was damaged as well, so that had to be replaced. Next delivery attempt: The non-white-gloved third-party delivery service removes my box springs, puts my mattress to the side, installs the 2 bases (it's a king size bed) and then proceeds to put my old mattress on top. Where's the mattress I ask. Not on the truck. That's because that someone apparently put it in as 2 separate orders. Also, the driver told me that the mattress wasn't damaged when they came the first time. Nope. It wasn't on the truck that day either. So, I refused delivery again. They had to remove the bases and leave. I went to the store and everyone was very nice. (That someone was not there.) They blamed it on the delivery service--or it may have been that that someone put it in as two orders. Nobody knew for sure. An aside--I ask you: How can a brand as big as Tempur-Pedic, selling such expensive products even use a third-party service? Mind-boggling. Fast forward a couple of weeks to the THIRD attempt. Mattress here? Yup. Bases here, yes. Delivery begins by removal of my mattress and box springs. Then, the driver starts unpacking one of the bases and it's damaged. I call the store to ask if I can accept delivery and have them replace the damaged base. That someone says it can't be done and tells me to accept the mattress only and refuse the base. But person I'm talking about, when you sold me the bed you said I can't put your foam mattress on a conventional box spring. Oh, and will this start the clock on the 90-day return window for the mattress--even though it's not set up properly. Yes, according to that someone. I tell him it's unacceptable and poor customer service--especially now that it's been 7 weeks and 3 attempts for delivery. Again, after twisting his arm, because customer service is not something with which that someone is familiar, he puts me on hold for 15 minutes while the delivery men wait. What do you know? I can accept the 2 bases and the mattress and they’ll order and replace the broken base later on. That someone told me it couldn’t be done because he hates customer service. He likes selling though. Today, the delivery service calls me to set up delivery for the replacement bases. That’s right. They ordered two to replace both of mine even though only one is defective. Whatever. Hopefully on Wednesday, when they come this will be all taken care of.
If you want a Tempur-Pedic mattress go to P.C. Richard & Son or Raymour & Flanigan. They sell them and they actually give a damn about their customers and you’ll get the same product. Oh, and the truck that comes to deliver your goods will have the name of their store on it. It won’t be a third-party who the company can blame. Stay far away. If I see you entering the store, I will have to hold myself back from...
Read moreWhat a positive experience! My husband and I were strolling in the Walt Whitman mallwhen we decided to stop into Tempur-pedic Our present Tempur-pedic mattress is over 20 years old! Maybe it’s time for a new one We were greeted by their sales rep Markinson . He was pleasant, friendly didn’t mind how much time we were spending, showed us all the options explained everything to us. Truly, a nice First impression. So then trying to schedule the mattress. Delivery became an issue with me because I had to cancel and reschedule The operator was wonderful. She worked with me to get the perfect day and time for delivery. always pleasant never had an attitude always willing to help finally the delivery. I was a little uncomfortable because they were going to be two men delivering the mattress that had to go up three flights of steps and I was going to be alone so I asked my husband to takeoff from work to be with me. He did but that there was no need at all. The delivery man were lovely, respectable knowledgeable, pleasant, and right to business. They took the old mattress out within minutes and now I have a brand new firm Tempur-pedic mattress !!! Thank you so much from the first day we walked into the store to the last day when my new mattress was put on our bed. It was a class “A” experience thank you to everyone...
Read moreI had a very positive experience at Tempur-Pedic in the Walt Whitman Mall. Passing the store, I stopped in, almost on a whim. I have a bad back and had recently returned from a trip during which I had slept on a Tempur-Pedic mattress, waking each morning impressed that my back didn't hurt (an unusual occurrence for me). I just wanted to pick up a brochure. Instead I was met by Lisa Peterson, who was exceptionally helpful - warm, friendly and very well informed. She explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. I left to think over my decision and was impressed that Lisa texted me a few days later to offer her support. When I returned to make my purchase, I was helped through every decision, fully informed and expertly advised. Both Lisa and LuLu, who also helped me, were supportive, helpful, warm and very knowledgeable. I couldn't have been more satisfied. I'm happily awaiting my new mattress which is to be delivered in a few days. I very much appreciated the help and advice I received and feel confident that if I have any questions or problems in the future, I can call on Lisa for assistance. I feel I have a friend at...
