Ruined my ring. I brought my ring here to get the prongs fixed around the diamond on my engagement ring. They became bent so they shifted from where they should be. I said id like to get it resized and soldered together if they could and had time but if not I just wanted the prongs. They agreed and took the rings. I went today to pickup and was excited to have it back, it fit now, but when I got in my vehicle I noticed the prongs had not been moved at all...the same 3 were exactly how I had dropped them off. So I went back in and pointed it out to the lady at the counter, I stayed friendly and pointed out that the prongs were the entire reason I brought the ring and she even stated oh yeah I remember that. She then took the ring in the back to have another woman look at it and I couldn't understand what was being said but could tell that woman was upset. That woman came out and was immediately defensive saying they did do repair work on it and that the prongs are to small and they cant move them. I told her that's not acceptable as I paid for them to be repaired and they don't look like they've moved at all. The best she could offer me was to leave the ring with them and they'd take another look or to bring it back when I return from vacation. I left saying id bring it back after vacation. I decided to go get a second opinion. The other jeweler looked at the ring and pointed out that whoever had my ring had damaged it in 5 spots between the stones on the band, and that the prongs are plenty big enough for the stone, and then...noticed a gold spot on my rosegold band.....in a spot where it should have been a divot but it was obviously someone just melted some gold onto it. So I went back to bassett and the woman was much more defensive this time and started to tell me what a nightmare my rings were to work on, and that the band cracked and the diamonds fell out so they did a bunch of repair work to fix it. None of which had been told to me at any point until now....I told her my ring is more damaged now than when I brought it in and she nodded and agreed....she then proceeds to blame me because I didn't just take the ring to wherever I bought it....for which I pointed out that they offer repairs, they looked at my rings when I brought them in, I showed them what I needed fixed and they agreed and took the rings, and even after that she stated this was my fault. My ring is now gonna cost me double if not more to fix as the other person quoted saying it depends on if she finds...
Read moreUnfortunately I did not have a positive experience. I did not have friendly customer service the first time I went in. I had a ring fixed and instead of the 2 weeks they said they would take, it took 3.5 and I had to call to follow up only to be given vague and uninformed info. Upon returning for another repair in which I will have to give a thank you for them repairing it but it appears to me to be unsatisfactory work. I will have this looked at by another jeweler. Again they provided no communication as to what was going on with the ring. I was awaiting a call the next day to see what would need to happen and a week later I had to call. I was not given the option of what diamond would be put into the ring nor informed the work was going to be done. I would have appreciated having been informed of what was going to be done or could be done. I was told “ hopefully we can find the work in the book” since I didn’t have the ticket at the time of the call. Customer service upon picking up the ring was what I considered...
Read moreI took in a ring to have it resized and was told it would take less than a week to have it back. After two weeks with no contact from Basset jewelers I stopped in to see what was going on. I was told that something on the rring was dammaged and I was not allowed to see the ring or get it back because it was being "cleaned" after threat of calling the police I was allowed to see the ring and the stone was removed from it for some unknown reason. Do your self a favor and...
