We purchased $10,831.79 worth of Maytag appliances (for two homes) from Morehouse. Our $2,700 refrigerator leaked all over our new home's hardwood floor warping and cupping the boards in front of it which will require replacement of the floor. After several attempts by the Morehouse's service tech to repair the leak, they said they couldn't help us by replacing the refrigerator and told us to contact Whirlpool who makes Maytag. Instead of replacing the refrigerator, they basically threw us under the bus and told us to deal with Whirlpool directly. Whirlpool did replace the refrigerator, however, it was replaced with a box store model - not the same quality we purchased from Morehouse. Additionally, Whirlpool uses a trucking company to deliver product so when our new (cheap version) refrigerator was delivered, they basically just left it without making sure the water/ice was hooked up, the doors leveled or the wheel brakes were put on. We have since had 2 service calls and the ice maker is still not working. We intentionally went to an appliance store and not a box store in order to purchase higher quality merchandise and not box store quality. With the amount we spent at Morehouse, one would expect them to stand behind their customers if a product they sold us was faulty. This, sadly, did not happen. Please be aware of 'after they make the sale' and have your money, they will not stand behind their products. Beware! 10/15/18 UPDATE!!!! The Maytag gas stove, Model MFT2776FEZ, that we purchased from Morehouse does not heat up to the desired oven temperature. We called Morehouse for a warranty repair service call and was informed by DAVE MOREHOUSE, the owner, that because of this review of the refrigerator above, he will not service any of the TEN appliances we purchased from him. PLEASE BEWARE!!! Very poor business practices...
Read moreSorry this will be long. We had to do a small remodel of our old kitchen. To upate we decided to replace the 30 year old plus electric stove, 33 year old microwave (Yes, really that old), and 28 year old dishwasher. We went there to look at a Kitchenaid dishwasher. We had NO intentions of buying a range or microwve from there since we had looked at other models and had decided on our choice. We didn't pay attention to time. We went in and a Salesman named Chris met us. He went over everything we needed to hear for the dishwashers and decided which one. It was closing time, but he allowed us to look at the ranges. He then went over all the differences in each and installation requirements and we also looked over a microwave, and gave us prices and we left.. We knew we would buy the Kitchenaid dishwasher there and other items elsewhere. When we started reviewing other prices it occurred to us the other appliance prices were close. So we took our numbers and went to Morehouse. Chris was off but we met Dalocal. We explained we could buy all appliances elsewhere, and cheaper and get a new credit card bringing the price down even further but we liked Chris and the way he explained EVERYTHING. We didn't get that from other stores. They ended up coming really close with the prices and we still could have gotten a bit cheaper but we really felt comfortable purchasing from a local appliance store that will be able to service our appliances if we need them to be. In the end we bought all Kitchenaid products. We are adjusting to the gas range since we only used electric. The dishwasher is so quiet, we no longer need to turn up the TV. Our Kitchenaid microwave is also a great new addition. Thank you to all the people at Morehouse,...
Read moreI purchased a dishwasher, washer machine, and dryer from Morehouse Appliances. It has been a total nightmare since that mistake.
It started with my washer machine. The machine was delivered with damage and missing parts. This led to my contractor trying to find ways to install without direction because the box had none. He was convinced the machine was used. My contractor made a mistake installing. I called Morehouse for help and I was hung up on by the manager (Chris) because he was having a bad day because of Black Friday, his words!
After he realized his mistakes he called me back. Then, he proceeded to send two technicians to my home and nether offered any solution to get the machine working. They came to point fingers and blame. They also refused to help me and told me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer but as you can imagine that will be a long process.
Since then, my dryer and dishwasher are both malfunctioning. Now, I’m out of hard earned dollars with nobody to turn to for help. I’m left lost at how I lost 4k buying from this company and now I’m looking to spend more money to have working machines in my home. What did I do to deserve this?
Common sense should supersede warranties and technical business jargon. This company did my family wrong and did not...
