Having lived in Boston and New Hampshire I should have known better when I saw the low prices. Lobster roll was some sort of strange hot version not CT not Maine with a burnt bun not worth eating. Haddock was definitely old and not edible, scallops and whole belly clams way over cooked in dirty oil. When you picked them up oil just oozed from them. This wasn’t to go so they didn’t steam and overcook. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday who knows.
So I wouldn’t normally post anything else but given the super odd response from the owner I will……
Response from the owner Guess we can't make you happy you ordered everything on the menu and it all sucked? Not sure why you wouldn't bring to the staffs attention if this was so.
So firstly no I didn’t order everything I got 3 fried items (which I’d consider one thing) lobster roll and lobster Mac and cheese. The fried food was bad yes. It was over cooked and there’s quite a few reviews about it now that I look. Lobster roll like I said was odd not Maine not Connecticut. I think it has old bay but I’m not sure. If it’s some regional style ive never hear of I’d say promote and make it known bc as is it’s confusing. Lobster Mac and cheese just wasn’t our cup of tea but the pasta was cooked well just didn’t care for it.
Why didn’t I bring it to the staffs attention? Not my farm not my pigs. I ordered food didn’t care for it left. I didn’t want anything or expect a refund. I got what I payed for and that’s fine with me. I will say making your own tarter and cocktail is a good move and was happy to pay for that.
So the real question is why the passive aggressive responses and not reflection on what people have said during reviews. Comparing to belle isle seafood (Winthrop ma) and great American hotdog (Hendersonville NC) the prices here are very low. Maybe the market won’t support it but a good lobster roll under 30 bucks is hard To come by unless it’s full of filler. Whole belly clams need 25/30 a pound also pretty typical in my experience. I’d say maybe less lashing out and more reflection. Perhaps a chefs sabbatical to the coast.
Considering this is the only place I’ve found within 1.5 hours that even sells whole bellies I’d like to see them be great for selfish reasons. Great American hotdog can do it being located in the mountains with fresh never frozen so it can be done. Will people pay? I have no idea...

If you have any type of proof that there was fish in my fish sandwich please provide it? I stand by my statements, there was no fish in my sandwich, just bits clinging to breading. The fish is so thin it literally disintegrated when fried. you are a poor excuse for a business & a businessman. Wishing someone chokes, really, wow. You a sad pathetic excuse for a human too!
12/6/24 online order & pickup. Zero stars I ordered the fish sandwich & 1/2pound fried scallops. Scallops were no were near as fresh / sweet tasting as previously, very greasy. My fish sandwich literally had zero fish inside of the breading, See pics. I called the store, franco requested i send pics, which i did. I was called a liar & told that I gutted the inside of fish!! That there was no way that came from his restaurant! Well it did and seriously why would I or anyone do this to a fish sandwich? I did nothing to tamper with this fishless sandwich!!! I'm offended & quite upset at being accused of this. franco agreed to credit my fish sandwich. Which he did. So thank you for that. fresco fishes quality which was once superior is non existent now.
Grubhub delivery Scallops were sweet, fresh & delicious, but missing paid cocktail sauce. That was the good, remaining order was wrong, cold, missing paid items & just unsatisfactory. Fries were completely cold & hard! Fish sandwich was somewhat warm but missing included tartar sauce as well as a paid for extra tartar sauce & cocktail sauce. Delivery was prompt, but driver did not follow instructions to use side entrance only & hand food to me, I request this bc I am disabled. Luckily she came back after i texted her & she brought my order to me. Thankfully grubhub support was able to assist me to my satisfaction. The worst part: I’m making a very special dinner for my wife’s birthday. I asked for Halibut and thankfully they have it in stock. However, this is the biggest error an employee or even business owner can make when they’re selling seafood (particularly fish) by the pound. They weighted the blocks of frozen halibuts ($24+ each) and they charged me over $80.00 and I expressed my question / concern to the lady: how do you guys figure out if the fish obviously isn’t fresh, it’s layered in a block of ice, then more than obvious the charge will be even much greater than regular price. She did not know what to tell me, even though she could have asked Franco who was extremely busy attending another customer next to her. I cannot support this type of business if their employees are not trained properly. It’s very inconsiderate to not be able to purchase fish for what it is truly worth it or at least provide a logical explanation. But nobody cared to go out of their way. I still paid for it and I hope the money I paid helps this business but also hope my feedback prevents any more customers from being screwed over because it was not a logical transaction to me at all.
