Extremely...LOUD & boisterous. If you want a great meal and a quiet atmosphere, where ya don't need to use smoke signals to communicate(or sign language), definitely go someplace else. It's a chain restaurant. And chain restaurants are always rowdy. The food was noticeably frozen. Pre-packaged. In a bag. Thawed. Then cooked. Yip. Retired executive chefs, can notice that flavor. Applebees, TGI Friday, Olive Garden, Outback, and even the independent steak restaurants in the area serve frozen, prepped main dishes. Even Turning Stone Casino. Ya want a hearty fresh, never-frozen steak...ya got to pay a hefty fee. And Texas Roadhouse is not it. We sat behind a table with three kids, and the table next-to-us had four adults, and four obnoxious kids. Hey. If ya have kids in a restaurant, keep'em confined to one area, and us adult diners, to a zone, where were not going to be annoyed, and leave a four-dollar tip for a Eighty-five dollar meal of two. The music was too loud. Couldn't concentrate on the menu, and the waitress was as annoying as the nearby kids, asking every two minutes if we were ready to order. Obviously, the priority of this chain restaurant, is to pack'em in, feed'em, and throw'em back in the field. Kinda like cattle. We specifically asked for medium steaks. Yip. Not happening. Our orders were medium-rare. We had'em returned, which gave us time to conclude our appetizer. The steaks arrived four minutes after the appetizer. And when we asked the steaks be cooked medium, they returned five minutes later, still...medium-rare. The dessert(apple pie), was frozen, from a box, and microwaved. Very similar taste to those frozen pre-packaged pies ya purchase in a frozen-food aisle. The veggies, had a noticeable plastic taste, probably microwaved or boiled in a bag. Sure most give these chain restaurants high ratings. Very vexed as to why. You want a outstanding steak, with very noticeable freshness and cooked properly, ya need to attend a privately-owned restaurant, or simply go to the meat counter, purchase your own, and grill-it using wood for best results. Yeah. The noise level. The amount of patrons packed-in like cattle, the rush of service to feed us and move-us-out, and the disappointment of the manager, being nowhere in sight, made us leave without touching dessert. Their is BETTER independent restaurants, with similar pricing, than attending a chain restaurant. Avoid at all cost on...
Read moreI do not go out to New Hartford all that often anymore and I have only eaten at Texas Roadhouse maybe twice since they opened. My experience today was one of the worst dining experiences that I could have had and it was made worse by poor managerial service. On a whim I went to the restaurant with my father and we sat down with many happy individuals all around. Immediately however, the fun atmosphere turned into one of long waiting that was soon to become much worse. The chicken entrée that I chose came out to the table and was raw.
Trying not to make a big deal out of the situation I called over the waitress and informed her that my chicken was only partially cooked. The waitress was very apologetic and very professional, but after calling over the manager I was met with a very arrogant individual who did little to remedy the situation. He was not apologetic and decided to defend the poor service that I had from the kitchen instead. I am not one to get upset but when professionalism goes out the window I find myself quite bitter. When the manager asked what I wanted to happen about the situation I was already upset. I decided to order a burger instead of more chicken because I did not want to experience more raw food, but no matter what they brought out to the table I had already lost my appetite.
Sitting next to a lovely couple they promptly showed my dad and I the vegetables they were served with their steak. Of course the broccoli that the lady had was black from rot, and then they went on to say that when they brought this up to their waitress they did nothing for them. By the time my burger got to the table I was ready to leave. When I got the bill and saw the chicken still there that was the tipping point of my horrible eating experience at Texas Roadhouse.
I will not be returning to Texas Roadhouse in the near future. Overall, the experience with food being under-cooked is bound to happen in a busy restaurant that is trying to service many patrons, but poor customer service, poor managerial skills, and lack of remedy for a bad experience made the whole ordeal...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. Today on 5/25/24 I dined in with 3 other adults and 3 children. We sat down and we’re instantly greeted. Ordered HOT boneless wings and had to send them back. They were cold and old. Gave them to a food expeditor and they let our server know. Our server then came back and insisted that their boneless wings were made to order and they would send out fresh. Wings were brought again to table and were instantly sent back for the second time as they were over cooked and tough to chew. Next course came salads and this is where it took a turn for the WORST. I was eating my salad when I thought I was chewing a hard piece of lettuce. Spit it out and comes to find out it was a melted meat thermometer stick in my salad. Instantly asked to speak to a manager. My claim was fluffed off and they insisted on taking me meal off as I refused to eat no problem. This is where it got ugly. I watched my entire family eat and when it came time to leave the waiter said “here is your bill we took the burger, salad, and boneless wings off for you”. The check was $150 before tip. This is unacceptable to be given a bill we then asked to speak to a manager yet again this time we spoke to the managing partner whom made it a point to let us know who he was and how he owned a portion of the store. He then argued with my husband instead of actually caring about how our dinner was ruined as I watched those around me eat as I lost my appetite after eating melted plastic. The lack of customer service this owner has is astounding. Their are too many good LOCALLY owned restaurants in this area to patronize a chain like this, “owned partially” by those who do not find eating a thermometer stick to be a “valid” reason for comping a check. Save your money and go to other places that do not argue with their customers and instead speak to them like human beings so that they do not lose customers and instead build a rapport with them so they have have guaranteed...
