Came after a hike at Mohonk — we arrived at IPho at 5:30pm on a Sunday.
TL;DR: don’t come here during dinner hour unless you’re willing to wait most of your night for bland pho
There was no seating inside, so we ordered two pho bowls and bundled up outside (it was 50 degrees out). After 45 minutes of waiting for our food, we asked a server to turn on the heat lamp near us. She tried, but it was out of gas. We waited another 45 minutes in the cold before another server came out and informed us that our order slip had been lost. They offered us some hot tea (the people sitting behind us hadn’t yet received their tea that they had ordered 20 minutes prior), then processed our refund. Then they say: whoops, actually look your soup is ready. We eat our soup — it’s very bland, especially the meatballs. It needs the hoisin and sriracha sauce condiments.
Other people around us told us this long waiting was expected. 10 minutes after we got our food, people who had waited half the time we did got their food, which was incredibly frustrating.
At 7pm they started refusing people from putting in new orders to deal with how backed up they were. They definitely should have done it earlier. How does this happen to an established restaurant? How were they so unprepared and surprised at how this night went?
Also a side note irritation: we ordered the one size of bubble tea and got noticeably smaller cups than other people.
I recommend going to the other pho...

Read moreSuper inconsistent service. First time I was here during the summer it was a fine experience. Good food and good service. Last weekend, I stopped by again. Everyone was behind the counter and no one came out to seat the customers. At least 4 parties waited in the takeout line and waited a long time to be seated.
After being seated, the waistress never came to our table. I finally flagged someone to order. She brought the diet coke without a glass or a straw. The bubble tea came with the straw upside down, with the pointy end up. We ordered two bowls of pho and she only brought one plate of fixings and a single spoon.
I lost count how many times I had to request basic things. Even our receipt came without a pen to sign it.
During the meal, one waitress suddenly leaned over our table to grab the chopstick/napkin station at the other end of the table. And minutes later, she leaned over us to put it back. She didn't say a word thoughout this whole thing, not even a simple "excuse me".
What bothered me the most is the seemingly different treatment other tables got. For context, I'm asian and my boyfriend is middle eastern. All waitresses and neighboring customers are white.I don't want to throw the race card but I really felt weirdly neglected even treated rudely compare to the...
