Being a person from Indian subcontinent, I can honestly say that it’s one of the best Indian restaurants specially in upstate New York . Today is my first visit with my friends. It’s easily located with on site parking facilities. They are offering dine in, delivery, take out & curb side pickup also in this COVID 19 situation. They have a wonderful outdoor dining facility also. Masks are mandatory and staffs are wearing masks and maintaining proper hygiene procedures. All the flavors are authentic and there are dishes from all around India-Pakistan- Bangladesh . Don’t forget to try their Chef’s special biriani & Golap Jamun. Customer service is not quite satisfactory and welcoming. Basically Indian people are welcoming & cordial. Those things are missing. Management should train the staffs proper customer service as well as table service. Price is quite okay with the taste & quality of the food. Recommended to travelers and local food lovers.

We picked this restaurant for lunch after a small hike at Minnewaska State Park Preserve. There's ample parking near the restaurant. Finding a table was easy. We placed the order and waited a while. What did we think of the food? It was anything but authentic Indian cuisine. While it was influenced by Indian menus, it lacked the taste and finesse that authentic Indian restaurants offer. The bread was good, but the dal, biryani, and veg options lacked flavor. What deserves a special mention? Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything special worth mentioning. What could be improved? The staff was great and attentive, but the food just didn't have that authentic Indian taste. We'd recommend that the chefs visit authentic Indian restaurants to experience the real flavors. After all, placing a Taj Mahal wall-mounted display doesn't make the food Indian! Most importantly, refrain from using food coloring for mango lassi.

My husband and I have been dinning at this restaurant over 2 years… The food is always delicious, We have tried different chicken, beef and lamb dishes and never disappointed. The samosas are the best ! With the 3 sauces! I love that you can bring your own bottle of wine for not charge and have an amazing date. I recommend that if you go in a group, you order all the dishes to share. They serve a lot, and you'll surely have leftovers to eat the next day. I recommend the beef and chicken vindaloo, the Biryanis, the tandoori, and my favorite the Lamb Bhuna. I have not try a bad dish 😅 Bread the Nan and the Poori (I have not try others) Comfy food, always good before go home to a movie night. And finally the staff is always the super welcoming. Not complain about 🙌🏻

Wow so this was a disappointing birthday dinner. We got here, excited for Indian food because the reviews were good. I made reservations prior too and we showed up exactly on time. We had babies that were past their bedtime too, so we were antsy and hungry to eat and be on our merry way.

Well we sat down and were not handed a menu until I finally asked about 10-15 minutes later, and it took almost 35-40min until they actually took our order, after I asked twice for someone to do it. Food wasn’t served until 1hr and 10minutes in. And by this point one child was really loosing it because of how late it had gotten (we were hoping to be packing up by now and we were only now getting to eat).

In their defense the restaurant was busy in the beginning, but most everyone had their food by the time we arrived and then had left before they got to us. The restaurant owner lady was also pretty rude and harsh when dealing with us when she finally placed our order. We didn’t leave there until 2 hours later (again because getting the bill etc took longer than expected). And my baby had a screaming session the rest of the night because he was wayyy past his bedtime, our own fault for celebrating a new mamas birthday for dinner I suppose..

It sucks because for me the food wasn’t bad, but my family wasn’t impressed tonight by the service or the taste. I would have came back, because the prices are decent, but I was pretty turned off by the owner and people working there. I’ll just stick with Thai food up the...

I visited here based on a recommendation with my wife and two friends. We arrived around 4pm on a Wednesday and there were plenty of available tables.

We were seated immediately and greeted by warm and friendly staff.

We took some recommendations from the staff as well as ordered some food to try out.

Appetizers were absolutely delicious and we all were able to sample each a little so it was a very good sized portion for all of us to enjoy.

We all ordered separate entrees but the star of the show was definitely their signature dish CHICKEN CURRY…it was amazing to say the least.

Everything we ordered came to the table at the proper time and was cooked very well. Each dish was shared by all and we had smiles all around as we tried the different dishes.

They do have some extremely good beverages. I wanted to try the mango juice and I ended up having a second because it was delicious!

Our visit there was nothing short of fantastic and you can easily see this is a family owned restaurant with the father in the kitchen, the mom greeting and inviting in the dining room and there son wearing whatever hat is necessary at the moment.

I am certainly going back to visit them again and would stand by a recommendation to visit and try this New Paltz Indian Restaurant for good food, warm and friendly atmosphere and service that altogether will not break the bank.

This is a restaurant that is underrated and the food...

The boys and I are back! We made our return trip to college after our annual visit to the Adirondack Mountains. This time, we didn't get lost, but we did get hungry, as per usual. Looking for a place to satiate our large appetite, we pulled off the highway and took a dive into this restaurant. Little did we know how much of a treat we were in for. Each of us ordered a different dish and we shared it all with each other. Lamb, beef, chicken, and rice, all cooked to absolute perfection. Nan so wonderfully crunchy that the sounds were awesome. Ground beef samosas, so epic I can't even begin to describe them in terms of portion sizes, taste, texture, and accompanying sauces. It is rare for our friend group to be quite when in each others company, this was one of those times. We were so invested in the food that we only spoke in ohhhs and ahhhs. If you are thinking of making a visit to New Paltz Indian Restaurant, we all highly recommend you do so and make the most of your visit by sharing the food with your family and friends at the table. It will only heighten the joyful experience. Furthermore, the toilet paper is so luxurious, it is fit for royalty. 5/5...
