It pains me to do this as I would never deliberately hurt someone’s livelihood especially a small business however I do not feel that businesses that we trust should be able to treat their clients with blatant disrespect and not be held accountable for their actions. My daughters sweet 16 was earlier this month and we purchased the most beautiful gown from Designing Dreams in Mineola. Her gown who is manufactured by House of Wu/Fiesta Gowns was incredible and very expensive. Due to my daughter being petite there were many alternations that needed to be done on the gown. After spending hundreds of dollars to have the gown altered to fit my daughters petite figure we did not expect the gown to literally fall apart from the waist down in the middle of her reception. Having only safety pins on hand, we were able to fix the gown and get thru the evening but needed to do this twice throughout the night due to the heaviness of the material. The next day I called the boutique asking to speak to Elena who is the owner of the establishment. I was told by one of her workers that she was away in Brazil and not in to speak to me but would have her return my call a week later. I never got a call from Elena so I decided to just into the store with the gown. I went in on a Saturday to show her the damage to the gown and ask her to refund my alteration money and to contact the manufacturer at the very least. I do not know if the manufacture is too blame for the faulty workmanship but I do know that there were adjustments made to the gown by Designing Dreams and since I purchased the gown from them, that is who I needed to contact to seek some sort of restitution. I was immediately dragged into the back room as she knew I was aggravated for being ignored and she didn’t want me to create a scene in her crowded store. Once in the back room I was given a million reasons as to why they were not responsible for the gown falling apart. They tugged at the waist only for it to fall apart even further in their hands. Still waiting for her to agree to refund my alteration money and to contact the manufacturer…The conversation escalated into a screaming match. I told her that I was leaving the gown there for them to fix the damaged area and would be back to pick it up. Elena ageed to fix the gown and contact House of Wu/Fiesta Gowns. I called the store numerous times only to be blown off each time I called for status. Finally I went in and just picked up the gown. Elena claims to have contacted House of Wu but I never heard from them. Here we are 3 weeks after the party, gown is not fixed and she never contacted the manufacturer. With Communion season and Prom season coming up I would seriously think twice before going and giving your hard-earned money to a business that does not do right by their customers. There are many many boutiques on Long Island that treat their customers right. I had to learn...
Read moreThis store sells beautifully dresses My daughter went to this store for something else and low and behold she found that they had her prom dresses. Not friendly or welcoming, but they had the dress. We got the dresses and the Girl told us your alterations would be about 100.00 or less. We came back couple weeks later, only to find out that the dress alterations would be 200 and they charge tax if you use a credit or bank card. Which I was already pissed that the alterations went up. My daughter and her father went back for the final fitting she came home with the dress 4 days later she put the dress on for her prom everything was great until she started moving around to take pictures and started getting poked by pins. We got 5 pins out. Next she turned and the bra part bursted out thank God it was not noticeable it just looked like she had no bra on, and the back by the zip ripped a little. We couldn't do anything at that point. I called the the number and a lady answered that day and pretended like nothing was wrong and I'm trying to explain and she just kept on saying she doesn't understand. I got tired of explaining and gave my daughter the phone. So she told my daughter to send pics and hung up. We tried to call her back 2min after because we needed a proper phone number and email address to send the pictures but she never picked up the phone. All in all this store needs to get there act together especially when your customers come in the store hospitality and being nice is number one thing and the lady who does the alterations clearly is taking in the dresses too tight. Thats why I ask if she really needed all that Alterations the dress started falling apart the minute she started moving around in the dress. That is clearly unacceptable to us and any other customers that walks into your store and read your reviews if I did I would have...
Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased a baptism outfit for my Godson. When his mother put it on him, it was WAY too big. I was told when buying it to go up 2 sizes because they were European and "run small". Wrong. So very wrong. So, I returned back to the store to exchange it for a different size. Not only was I told that I COULD NOT EXCHANGE IT (Mind you, I wasn't asking for a refund - just a simple exchange to one his size) the owner lied to me saying there was a "FINAL SALE" sign up and that it was not exchangeable. I looked around the entire store to see this "FINAL SALE" sign or ANY notice of any items being final sale, and did not see any notice of that anywhere (see picture attached of cashier, where one would probably put that sign). Also nothing on the receipt says anything about "final sale" all the receipt reads is "Return Policy: All sales are final. No refunds." (Picture attached). BUT NO MENTION OF NO EXCHANGING! I wasted $250 at this store (Hm if this was final sale - what a great sale price?!) and I even recommended it to others. I will be sure to contact those and retract my recommendation and never return back here. Normally I do not write bad reviews on businesses, but this place and their terribly rude customer service gave me no choice, and left my godson with no outfit for his baptism this Sunday. Thank you...
