I worked with Sam on an Iron and Driver Fitting (two separate days). From beginning to end it was a great experience. Sam took the time to understand my goals, what I was looking for from the fitting and from the new clubs.

Sam was patient with me, listened to my feedback and didn't waste time of clubs that I didn't like or that were just not the right fit for me. I learned A LOT about my swing and how I deliver the club during my fitting. It was far from a lesson however it was an amazing learning experience that I was not expecting.

Most importantly, I truly appreciated Sam's straight to the point recommendations. I understand feel is a huge part of choosing the right clubs, but I was there to get professional advice and Sam delivered just that. Based on the data we collected throughout the fitting, the feedback I was giving same and the shot results, Sam was clearly able to identify the best shaft and clubhead combo that fit my game.

I also want to mention that fitters sometime receive negative feedback because clients fell like the fitter "pushed upgrades" or more expensive equipment. This could not be further from the truth in my experience. Especially when it came down to the driver. After identifying which head worked best for me, I wanted to try all of the shafts, especially the Upgrade after-market shaft that have the cool look and potentially better performance. Sam put together a few options and when comparing the more expensive after-market shaft to the stock shaft I was hitting originally, Sam clearly pointed out and explained why, even though the after-market shaft looks nicer with the bright colors, I was hitting the stock shaft better.

Bottom line, I went to Pete's to get fit by a professional and that is exactly what I got. I highly recommend Pete's golf and Sam Kim.

I scheduled two fittings with Sam Kim at the Lab 18 Fitting Studio. The Lab 18 facility and the people working there were awesome! They were very nice, accommodating and it is a state-of-the-art facility.

I have had quite a few club fittings over the years. Most are just trying upsell you on expensive shafts and other add-ons such as SST puring that don't help you shoot lower scores. The goal at Pete's is better golf through equipment that fits your swing. This may mean new irons and shafts - it also might mean adjusting your current driver to the right setting and weighting it appropriately so you can find the center of the clubface more often. While the former can be a little expensive, the latter is performed for just the cost of the fitting. Woody Lashen went meticulously through my entire bag suggesting new irons and one new hybrid. He adjusted my current driver using another shaft I had brought with me and adjusted the swing weight with an old Callaway weight he found in the back of the shop. Then he took my existing 3 wood and recommended a new shaft and rebuilt it at a swing weight to match my driver, the new hybrid, and the new irons (everything matched to swingweight D3). Lastly he measured my wedges for correct loft and bent one two degrees (back to where it was supposed to be) at no additional charge! I cannot recommend Woody and the support staff highly enough. Pete’s Golf Shop Review My impression is that driver fitting is part science and part art. Woody has clearly mastered both and developed a guru’s intuition as the club config he recommended to me has delivered wonderfully! After some warmup swings, he kicked off my (1st ever) driver fitting with a relaxed interview. Helpful, though I was still fairly nervous when I started measured swings. We spoke about many things. Two I’ll note is we established my fitting priorities regarding Left-Right dispersion, Long-Short dispersion, and overall distance; plus, he asked what my vision was of my ideal ball flight. After some “baseline” measurements with my then current gamer, Woody guided me through multiple driver head and shaft/grip combinations until the final one where my first swing with it resulted in that “ideal” ball flight. I’m not mentioning specifics about configuration or brand as my sense of it is that is irrelevant to anyone else but me. My only regret about the session is that I wish I could have taken the launch monitor data from my session with me, but alas I was told it’s not available. So, I picked up the custom driver config about a week ago and have gone to the range plus played 2 rounds so far and am extremely pleased! My fairways hit percentage has measurably increased (from 32% to more than 50%) as has my average distance off the tee. In fact, I have established new personal tee shot bests on multiple holes!
