Home Central — Local services in Town of Owego

Full renovation of our kitchen starting June 2020, still not complete as of 10/7/2020. We ordered our cabinets with Chris Stewart at Home Central. Initial order arrived somewhat delayed (explained as due to COVID) and found that our upper cabinets which were ordered as open cabinets had now come with doors requiring glass panel inserts, which we never ordered and are not on our final template that we reviewed with Chris. No big deal. The first order several of the drawer faces as well as some of the drawers themselves were damaged in shipping. I would excuse this if it were once, but we are now waiting a final drawer face from this initial order after a total of THREE shipments with damaged parts. Throughout this process Chris "Stew" has been elusive and at times unresponsive, never apologizing for delays. It has been extremely frustrating for a kitchen renovation with three little children to take this long and for the person we worked so closely with to design our dream kitchen completely disappear after he received our full payment.

I would absolutely not recommend going thru Home Central for cabinet designs, or if you must, do not work with him. He is unprofessional and will more than likely screw up your cabinet order, then not accept any sort of responsibility for delays.

Customer service is mediocre. They're not rude or anything but everytime I go in there everyone is huddled around ignoring customers. Never once asked if I needed help but once interrupted they will try to help but I was given bad information that has entirely screwed me over on a project. I called earlier in the week to ask about delivery, was told they typically can do next day. Went in two days before project day, but got confused about something so went back to warehouse to look at what I needed (best customer service was back there) and by the time I was done it was almost closing time. I specifically asked the girls up front if I came in on Thursday if I would still be able to get my delivery on Friday. They said yes so I went back the next day, got everything ready to order only to be told Monday at the earliest. Extremely...

I have used this store many times as it is close to my house, and have to say have had several times recently bad experiences. And I have to post bc this last one was especially irritating. I went once and asked for stain and was sold stain PAINT!! Noticed after painted part of the wood I bought. Then went for paint needed satin finish and was given flat. Didn’t even look until paint went up and then noticed. When you know exactly what u need it’s not an issue but asking for help- the suggestions have been 3/4 times, disasters. Won’t go back in bc tired...
