As someone who frequently explores specialty retail and confectionery shops, my recent visit to Sugar Crazy in Plainview was thoroughly disappointing. While the store offers an extensive selection of candies, novelty items, and sweets, the overall experience falls far short of expectations.
The pricing is excessively high, with everyday items like chocolate bars and small snack bags costing significantly more than at comparable retailers. While variety is abundant, the premium pricing does not reflect any additional value or quality.
Equally concerning is the store layout. The space feels cramped and cluttered, making it difficult to browse comfortably. This disorganization detracts from what should be an enjoyable and whimsical shopping experience.
Customer service was another major drawback. The staff appeared disengaged and offered minimal assistance. Rather than feeling welcomed and supported, I felt like an inconvenience simply by shopping there.
In conclusion, despite its wide selection, Sugar Crazy’s combination of overpriced merchandise, disorganized layout, and poor customer service results in a subpar shopping experience. For those seeking value, quality, and a professional retail environment, there are far better alternatives...

I truly don’t know where to start with my review. first of all, i took the time to read what other people had to say & a lot of people said that they bought stale items, so did I. the fact that this is a pretty often occurrence makes me upset. second of all, the items are overpriced & mediocre. things that would cost me 5 dollars to make myself in high quantities are selling for 15 for a tiny batch. ridiculous. also the squishmallows are insanely pricey, & the fact that they only put out a couple of each at a time makes me upset. the employees will let people get away with things& not others, & many are rude. coming here is not so...
Read moreThe store itself is incredible with a lot of options. Seems organized even though it's packed with candy, toys, etc. I need to mention though that when I went on a Saturday around 1pm during what is seemingly still a pandemic state, I was a little disappointed to see no staff members overseeing the candy bins where you scoop and fill a bag. A child I didn't know was also there and was about to reach into a bin with his bare hand and I asked him to please use a scoop and to also pull his mask up as it was exposing his nose and upper lip. This all made me uncomfortable and ultimately I curbed my purchase as a result. Additionally, the store was beyond packed. There is no way to maintain any sort of social distancing. I feel they need to limit the amount of customers in the store at a time and also have a staff member monitoring the candy bin area. I really don't enjoy having to give this type of review, but it's important especially...
