I am so disappointed in my treatment by the provider last night.
I went in with tremors, couldn't lift my arms, severe headache and face pain, high blood pressure, and visual hallucinations, and nausea.
Front desk staff, techs and nurses were amazing to me. I couldn't lift my arms, they helped. Were compassionate toward me. THEY SAW IT. I was twitching walking in! I couldn't walk. I couldn't keep my head up. I was so light headed I thought I'd hit the floor. Struggled to sign my name on the paperwork. By the time the doctor got to me (I understand wait times. Im not mad about that), the twitching had subsided, and I was getting feel back in my arms.
By the time he walked in though, I was HALLUCINATING. (Asked if I was on drugs, which I understand. But pretty much the ONLY THING he briefly documented). Didn't bother with blood work. Didn't even mention the possibility of a migraine in my paperwork. You wrote my diagnoses as NAUSEA.
Guess what. My doctor discovered by b12 was EXTREMELY LOW today, and immediately got ahold of me when results came back.
The Urgent Care Provider refused to send me home with anything than nausea meds. My head was pulsating! I said i cant take nsaids orally. He told me tylenol. I told him I've already taken too much for the day. He blew me off and said tylenol. Said maybe it's a viral infection. I had no cold like symptoms.
I got home and after a 5 min google research, I realized it went through ALL FOUR STAGES OF A MIGRAINE. My PCP immediately said Migraine when i explained it to him today (same story is gave your UC Provider, btw!) I didnt even suggest it to him. He immediately offered me some relief, and ordered tests.
The Urgent Care Provider made me feel like he didn't believe me, and that I was drug seeking and wasting his time. He didn't even include half the symptoms I reported in the documentation, and focused on nausea so he could get me out.
I wasn't seeking opiates. If you were so worried about that, then run a drug test! Open up Psyches and see if I've been med shopping!!! I would have consented to that. He didn't even offer me Toradol (which I would have been thrilled with, and not a control!) Had you asked, you would have known I HATE opiates and would have refused them for something else. I cried my whole way home. I've never been so disappointed in a U of R location. I will not be going to this location again.
I don't know if he was making assumptions about me, hates his job, or is unknowledgable, but I am so...
Read moreMessed up my insurance and overcharged me, now I have to go through the insurance process, the front desk employee asked for way too much information (my employment personal finances (wth does that have to do with me being sick?)
The nurse/nurse practitioners were kind, but they mostly gave me the wrong medicine for my viral sore throat (a bunch of antibiotics I didn’t need that only caused harm to my body, had to stop taking them because they were useless in my situation), even though I insisted I most likely have a virus since I’m very aware of my body.
They did give me a steroid which I do believe helped my inflammation and ultimately got me over the hump, but they causally, almost condescendingly dismissed my question, which I asked 3 times, because I’ve been misdiagnosed with a bacterial infection countless times by American health workers “are you sure it’s a bacterial infection?”, and they assured me it was THREE TIMES OVER! (it wasn’t). Not to mention the strep test they took came back negative. And the cherry on top is they made me wait in the patient room for about an hour when all I needed was that oral steroid.
Overall can’t even blame them they are just a symptom of a broken medical system, built on misinformation and greed, but overall a terrible experience. Slamming a bottle of advil would’ve been a more effective, less harmful, cheaper alternative to...
Read moreNOT impressed and will never be going to this office or bringing any family members here again. I brought my wife here last week after she fell and hurt her shoulder. She was in a decent amount of pain, so we decided that it was a good idea to get it assessed. We got there around 8:30. We initially felt bad (both of us being healthcare providers) , knowing that the providers seeing her would be getting out late because of this. But we also know that these services are around for things like this and that getting out late is sometimes a necessary part of the job. Rest assured, your providers got out on time that night. We were out the door after less than 20 mins (with xrays.... of the wrong part of her arm, which we found out the next day at ortho) of being there. The NP and LPN/RN were nice (which is the ONLY reason for the 2nd star), but we were definitely rushed through the system and felt it. The NP came in no more than 30 seconds after my wife got back from xrays and told her that the xrays showed nothing, telling us that her injury was likely muscular. The CORRECT xrays that we got at ortho the next day showed a greater tuberocity fx; a quite obvious fx that I could see with an untrained eye. This type of care is unacceptable. As I stated before, I will NOT be coming here or bringing anybody else...
