If I could give -10 stars I would. Today was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life. We went to get my 13 month old son's blood drawn. To start off, we made a 9am appointment and got the text that they were ready to see us. We unpack the car and walk in and the receptionist looks at us like we have 10 heads and goes "no... that's not accurate..." Ok well then why text us? After waiting a few the phlebotomist calls us in and immediately goes "NO FOOD." Mind you it was a small container of rice puffs for my son. No "hello, how are you" nothing. You would think you'd greet a 13 month old a bit nicer. The other quest allowed us to bring in a snack as it helps him not have a complete and total meltdown(stay tuned). So after doing random stuff on the computer she goes I can only do these 2 tests because of his weight (again something we've never heard but ok that's fine). She proceeds to check his arms to draw blood and is incredibly cold towards this little toddler. She wraps the blue thing around his arm, having extreme difficulty to find where to stick. She finally gets an arm and a vein and we start drawing blood. He starts having a meltdown, my wife offers him a pacifier and she goes "no dont do that he can choke" I'm not sure who she thinks she is to try and teach my wife how to parent. She also told my wife she needed to move back a little as she calls for another phlebotomist to assist her ad they are both aggressively holding our son. She then starts going to his other arm and doesnt mention anything. I ask her why? And she goes "well you arent holding him still." Then starts screaming for a phlebotomist assist her. The secobd phlebotomist comes in and grabs my kids arms to the point where shes leaving a mark. They were holding hard while I was bear hugging him to keep him safe and make him still for then. He was compulsively shaking and screaming. I've never seen my sons face shake like that. We finally get the blood drawn as my kid and wife are in tears. We literally were packing up our stuff.. 10 seconds later after not even telling us if we were all set to leave, she goes "I need to see the next patient". Ok I had no clue we were done? These 3 staff members were absolutely horrible and combined gave us an atrocious experience. Thanks so much for ruining the day for everyone Quest! We are so worried our sweet boy is going to be emotionally effected each time he gets...
Read moreSTAY CLEAR! it's not very often I leave a negative review about a business but if I could rate this place 0 stars I certainly would.
The draw could not have possibly been worse. I made it very clear to the tech as soon as they walked in that sometimes it takes a little work to find a vein to draw from. Well even though they acknowledged what I said, they certainly were not listening. At that point they tied me off and immediately plunged the needle in. Once they realized they didn't hit anything (as I warned them they wouldn't) they attempted to fish around for a few seconds before half wrapping a bandage around my arm. At that point they then moved on to the other arm, tied me off and proceeded to do the same exact thing! With both arms now half bandaged (as the wrappings immediately started becoming undone) they look at me and say "Well looks like I'm going to have to go through your hand" maintaining my composure I advised them that there has never been a need for that to which they followed up with "so, I guess this isn't happening today" ...seriously? So with no choice left I was then poked for the third time and then told "you can leave now"... as I walked out with 3 half wrapped bandages, I still wished them a happy thanksgiving while receiving a soft grunt in return. I can understand not getting a "please" when ordered to hold a piece of gauze nor a "thank you" but at no point did I even receive any sort of apology for all the misses and rush job that was performed. No wonder the place was empty when I walked in.
I've never used this lab in the past, and will certainly never again use it in the future. The only reason I came here was because my doctors have recently noted that my previous lab has been having delays in relaying results. Well after coming here I realized that I don't care if I have to hand deliver my results to them myself. So battered and bruised I give you this warning. Beware the butcher of...
Read moreA truly horrific experience. I made an appointment on line for 10:45 Friday, August 20th. When I arrived at 10.40 I was somewhat ill at ease when I noticed people crowded around the door and outside. I went in and registered at the kiosk using my bar code. The screen said I would be texted in 40 minutes! The technician was in the waiting room shouting out in a very unprofessional manner that she was alone that day. The gentleman behind the desk seemed to be very confused, so much so in fact, that I thought he may have simply been sitting in the chair waiting for his own blood to be drawn. After waiting in my car and having not received a text I entered the office again (there was a paper sign on the door saying closing time was 4.00PM.) In the office I was told it would be another 50 minutes. When I noticed that the single technician would call people by yelling out the door and calling names, I asked the gentleman if I would be texted. He told me that is what usually happens (hardly instilling confidence). I finally went back to the office at 12.45 - a full two hours after my scheduled appointment. The gentleman told me they would be closing at 1; although the handwritten paper (again not very professional) indicated 4.00PM. I asked if I would be seen especially since I had an appointment. The gentleman told me that he did not know.
Finally after waiting for 2 hours I left and drove to the Quest Lab in Medford. I had no appointment but I was seen in fewer than 10 minutes.
I too am in a service profession. Such unprofessional, rude, and course behavior would never be tolerated. I realize that things happen, but there cannot be any excuse for this. I will never go to Wading River again and would caution others to...
