A few months ago I was talking to my neighbor about cars and he asked me if I felt Saugerties was far away. I replied, no not really and then he highly recommended stopping at Sawyer Motors next time I was in the car market. He said it was a small town atmosphere and he felt like a person when he was there. He said there was none of the shenanigans that usually take place at dealerships. He told me he dealt with a woman named Macy. I respect this man’s opinion so I kept that in mind. Fast forward to last month and I test drove a few cars and made a deal on a vehicle at a dealership very close to my house. I paid a deposit but after I returned home I thought about the color I chose. I chose it because they didn’t have the color I really wanted equipped just as I wanted. Then I remembered what my neighbor said. I emailed Sawyer motors to inquire if they had the color I want and the options they want. They did. I ended up staying w the local deal because they were the first to honor a discount program that I was a part of. Macy also said she would honor it and gave me what the sales price would be after discount. I never compared the two figures. I thought they would be the same because they both honored the program. What I didn’t realize was the the local dealer didn’t give me the right discount. They gave me far less off than I should have gotten. They fixed it after I realized it and brought it to their attention. Because of this error I got an offer for another discount. This time I went right to Sawyer Motors. Macy was super friendly and I was shocked at how she treated me. She was totally transparent. Recommended I trade my vehicle in to Carmax because their offer was more than what she could offer. She held the car for me without wanting a deposit. She was patient while I cleared up some dmv issues with a title on a car I was looking to trade or sell. She even offered to help have the title rushed even though I said I’d be selling it to Carmax. Macy was bending over backwards to assist me anyway she could. I really appreciated that. When I went to pick up the vehicle I liked the dealership was easy to get to. Macy met me in the showroom and she was busy preparing bunch of toys for a local event they participate in for disadvantaged families and first responders. These were very nice toys and sneakers. I was impressed. I was impressed that an owner was hands on and setting that up. I liked that she dealt with me as a person and you didn’t get the feel that’s “the owner”. She spoke to me like a friend. Asked me how my title issue went even though that had nothing to do with our transaction at this point. She introduced me to Mike who handled the paperwork and then went to the car and explained the features of the car. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He wasn’t in a hurry. He was a nice guy who thought of everything. Even giving me those 3m strips for the ezpass for the new car that I’d have to replace from taking the ezpass out of my old car. Keep in mind that Macy didn’t have to participate in this discount program. Many dealers refuse to do so in this car shortage era. They know they don’t have to. They want to make as much money as they can, some are selling cars at well above msrp sticker price by like $5000-$10000. Macy wasn’t trying to find ways to make more money off me. It was the EXACT OPPOSITE. She was trying to SAVE me money. There was no attempt to upsell or sell extended warranties or car protection plans etc. My local dealer I went to did. They even added it in to the sale price and nonchalantly mentioned it when going over the figures the day before I picked it up. When he got to that point I said nope don’t want that and “he said really?? It’s great”. That didn’t happen at Sawyer Motors. After the error that was made at the first dealer and that talking to Macy actually saved me a lot of money in that first purchase,I regret not buying the first car from her too. Oh on my hour drive home Macy called me to thank me for coming out. Great experience !...
Read moreThe only reason I am giving sawyer 2 stars is because of the sales team. They were amazing when I bout the vehicle. The service department at Sawyer is terrible. I brought my vehicle in for a couple problems the first time, one being the sunroof not auto closing. They couldn't figure out the problem initially and had to consult with an engineering department for further instruction. Once they received further instructions on how to fix the issue, an appointment was made. I was told I would receive a rental car and it would be a day or two. When I picked up the rental car is when the problems began. They have me a vehicle with next to no brakes. When I brought the vehicle back the man at the service department told me that they don't know these things unless customers tell them. The brakes squealed as soon as you tapped them so you can't tell me you didn't know they were going/gone bad. The rental I picked up then had no dash lights, the passenger window stuck and had suspension issues. Again when I dropped it off to pick up my vehicle I told the man the issues with the car and his response was the same. Not even the slightest hint of an apology that I was given 2 vehicles that weren't in any shape to be driven. When I got in my own vehicle after being in the shop for almost a week, I realize the red light for the 911 assist button is illuminated. After an inspection of my headliner I notice it is very loose and there are a few dig marks in one area. I have had this vehicle for 6 months and paid a great deal of money for it. It should be in perfect condition when I receive the vehicle back. When I called today to tell them my issues, again there is no apology about the state my vehicle was given back to me. I don't feel the service department has customer satisfaction in mind in anything they do. I am not...
Read moreSawyer Motors has now blocked me from there page. Bob is continuing to hide behind his money and act like he does good. HE WILL PLAY VICTIM AND ACT LIKE HE IS TRYING TO MAKE IT RIGHT. Back in Feb 2022 we bought a Ram from Sawyer Motors, we have had nothing but problems with the truck. The first week of owning the truck the dash lit up like a christmas tree. Come to find out Ram Trucks did not wire the truck right and just electrical taped the wire together (i have pictures). The truck accelerates while braking, bangs into gear, shuts off on its own, jolts forward and will rev while parked. We were even involved in an accident due to the truck accelerating we were unable to avoid the young girl who was hit and spun into us. The seat belts did not lock up and my fiancé and i hit the dash. We hit so hard the truck shut off. We called sawyer and spoke with Maci who seemed like they were going to make things right. We spoke with Bob about what just had happened his response to us was “must have not hit the right sensor” and blew me off. I called after a few weeks of waiting to see if they would do anything which they did not. I was told by bob “i thought the issues were resolved sense i haven’t heard from you”. They even went out of there way to tell my body shop they would make things right just proving they will say and do anything to make sure other people don’t see through the BS. I also called ram to see if any of the issues were reported and found out they were not so the lemon law wouldn’t go into affect. We are so fed up with Sawyer Motors and Bob. We still have the Ram and are forced to drive it due Sawyer Motors and Ram refusing to do anything. The truck is unsafe and is a hazard but it is our only vehicle. If anyone is in the market for a vehicle DO NOT buy anything from Sawyer or a...
