As a well known fancy lad and bargin hunter, I've had ocasion to frequent the Seneca Falls Thrifty Shopper. It's wonderful. The place is filled with great people and great deals.
On the great people - Robin, the store manager, is always welcoming and very knowledgable about a wide array of Men's wear brands. She wll often critique my finds lamenting that she could have gotten more for it, which makes me feel like a thrifting genius. Jamie, the resident hot chick is quick with a smile. Mike, the hardest working dude in used merchandice treasure hunting is there working hard as he always does. He literally runs to the counter to help check out. Christine knows the words to every one of the 6 songs that they loop on overhead speakers and agrees that Phil Collins is over represented. I think she knows how much I hate Phil Collins, but she's too nice to agree with me that he sucks. I'm sorry to leave anyone out, they're just the ones I saw today. Everyone there is great.
On the great deals, they make it easy to find them. They put the new stuff in the middle of the store. This means that once you've gone through the racks, you've only got 4 new racks to go through on a regular basis. This makes a daily stop quick and profitable. It takes about 5 minutes to recon all of the the new swag and pocket the deals. Also on the deals, they recently added a One Dollar section and I've found some great stuff there. Last week, maybe 5 American Eagle Jeans and a pair of Spanx. Good stuff . . . but stay out of there until after I've gotten mine, please.
The store is clean, and that's saying something. I've never felt the need to use rubber gloves in there and I carry them from experience. Some thrift stores you need gloves.
Anyway, great people, a fantastic selection of deals. Just go there . . . but make sure it's after I've already been for the day, please. I dont want you walking out of there with...
Read moreI want to start off this review with one, I frequent a lot of the thrift stores in the area and two, I have been to multiple thrifty shopper locations. Thrifty shopper is my favorite western New York thrift chain, because of the 50 and 70 percent off color tags happening all the time. Specifically though, the thrifty shopper in Waterloo is a HIDDEN GEM. Not only is it always clean, well lit and the staff is very kind and helpful, I always find amazing bargains. The other thrifty shoppers just can’t compete with how amazingly the store is run and kept. I love shopping there, I always leave with so many things, and the staff wants you to get the best deal possible. You feel welcomed and they are just as excited about your finds as you are! I always bring my friends too, even ones who aren’t as big thrifters as I am, because honestly it has a pretty boutique feel. I cannot say enough good things about this location and the people that work there. All I’m saying is, if you’re not shopping here, you’re missing out! (But leave all the good stuff for me...
Read moreThrifty Shopper is an awesome place to find many second-hand items. They have a large selection of clothes, shoes, and accessories for adults and kids as well as toys, games, household items, decor, books, and jewelry. I stop here every few months to browse their selection and the store is always clean and well organized. The staff is always nice and helpful, the wait time for checking out is never too long. I am rating 4 stars because I feel like some of the items are overpriced. Sometimes I am finding t-shirts are being priced at $5+ which is way too expensive in my opinion; items like these should be maybe $2 since they are used. That is just my opinion since I am shopping second hand and Wal-Mart has new shirts on their clearance racks for less. Some of the decor items can also be pricey, sometimes I look at an item and end up putting it back because I don't feel like they are asking...
