Tops Friendly Markets — Local services in Town of Seneca Falls

Girlfriend and myself have used Tops Friendly Markets in Watertown Ny to cash our weekly paychecks for the past two years. We ended up in the Seneca Falls location, with the need (not want) to cash our checks from this location.

The manager at the customer service desk refused my girlfriends license (due to it having her former maiden name) despite having her passport with correct name and photo. Along with the explanation that 3 other Tops Friendly Markets locations accept this form of identification for check cashing. She proceeded to imitate cashing the check and providing my girlfriend with a “Denied Check” response from the computer.

Her malicious compliance to the rules she purported but also fabricated caused us a 3 hour ordeal. Running to and from all the banks and check cashing locations in a 20 mile radius of the Seneca Falls Tops. Costing us both gasoline and Time.

This process was solved when we found a Tops Friendly Markets location in Canadaigua Ny about 25 miles from where we started. This location promptly cashed our paychecks and solved our urgent dilemma promptly.

The date and time that we visited the Tops Friendly Markets in Seneca Falls Ny, was Friday November 16th, 2018 between 12pm and 3pm.

It is our hope that this incident can be resolved for future customers from further locations than this local Tops. We will continue to be loyal Tops Friendly Markets to our home location, and hold no grudge from the...

I brought my grandmother shopping the other day as she is not able to get to the store her self. Everyone in the store was helpful with any questions she had until we got to checkout. We put all her groceries on the belt and then both realized that we where in the 12 items or less isle. My grandmother apologized to the lady and told her she would remove her items and go to another line. Even though we where only a few items over the 12 items. The cashier “KATE” was extremely rude, she told my grandmother yes you obviously have to many items and that we have two signs and she should have at least seen one of them. I was with her and I didn’t see either sign. After my grandmother apologized more than once she continue to be extremely rude and slammed the items into the bag and through the bags on the counter. This is not the first time “KATE” has been rude. She has been the same way with my other grandmother as well as my mother and myself. Usually i would have told her to get rid of her attitude but I was with my grandmother and didn’t want to cause a scene. I have also heard from other people she has new rude to them as well. i usually wouldn't waste my time writing a review for any entertainment catering places but the service provided was completely horrible today.

i wanted to simply order something over the phone from a different state and pay for it so that it could be prepared for a party i couldn't attend-- no bien. not only did it not happen since they said they couldn't take any payments not in person but they transferred me to 5 seperate women before telling me that. from the people at the 1800 number all the way to the store manager-- all were not friendly. They all made it clear to me (in the short period that we spoke) that they clearly need to redo things there to make their employees happier so that the customer can also feel that. i felt like everyone i spoke to hated what they did and it was evident by their demeanor/tone/attitude.
