I drove 25 minutes away to buy a ps2 and I got it for a good price which was 50 dollars +10$ for a controller that came with it. All of the wiring came with the ps2 also. There were 2 problems. I had an HD TV and figured I would need a cable for a HD TV so they have me one. They gave me the cable and it did not work and was alittle busted up. I also got another controller on the side to play with friends. I went home and realized the controller they gave me was alittle busted up and did not work. So the next day I drove ALL THE WAY back which was annoying, a 25 minute drive. I told them their controller did not work and the wiring they gave me did not work. So they let me trade in the broken controller and broken cable for a ps2 game and new ps2 controller. That became the same price as the broken wiring and broken controller they gave me. The controller clearly did not work because I used 2 other controllers on that ps2 that night and they worked fine when the controller they sold to me that say did not work. I went to return the broken ps2 controller to them and they took it to the back and said it worked then I asked if they can show me it worked and show me the controller I just picked up worked that day and they got very weird and I saw they did not want me to check so I took it as they lied that the controller was working. The ps2 controller did not work clearly. I tested it the night before and found it did not work on my ps2 at all and tried everything and the other 2 controllers I had worked like it was nothing and I tired to plug the controller in both controller areas 1 and 2. I would not reccomend this place because they cell some broken products. Read moreNot my favorite place. I've been here before and they have strange hours for the store. I've gone and at times they close. Additionally, the clerks at the store keep to themselves and don't really seem enthusiastic or in the mood to help. I've come into the store before and spent decent money. Today, I came into the store with my son and brought in a PS2 to possibly trade. When I came in, the clerk looked at me strange as if I had a "toxic" item. He mentioned they didn't want PS2s as they had too many in the store. I just took my son and walked out. I ended up going to another retro game store (not mentioning name because they have nothing to do with this) which in my opinion is a way better store. The staff their is courteous, they greet you with open arms, they have an awesome video arcade and other items; you can tell they are passionate about games. I've visited most of the retro gaming stores in Suffolk, and will not be returning to this chain.
To the Owner of Game On - "No," I'm not lying. It didn't happen? So why would I post about your store like this? The owner of that store did nothing so don't include him. I genuinely like their store better than yours; it has nothing to do with them Your staff turned me away when I brought in my PS2 fat indicating you had ton's in stock and weren't even looking at any. Every time I come to your Smithtown location they tend to keep to themselves and aren't helpful. I suggest you train your people in customer service. I will not be returning to your location again.
