Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Town of Smithtown

We placed an online order to pick up (through their site). Instead of calling us to let us know they were out of cold brew they waited for us to arrive. Then gave us a hard time while we tried to call our friends to see what they wanted instead. Instead of refunding us on the spot or substituting the items they told us we had to pay for the new items and request a refund online. And refused to help any farther. Online on the store site there is no option for a refund so we had to email to request one. This is ridiculous and honestly unacceptable. Personally I will never come here again even if this issue is solved. If you cant handle online orders, don't offer them. If your staff and management aren't equipped to handle a simple problem on their end, they should be...

I'm sure it's ok for for coffee, but if you are a tea drinker keep driving. I went in to have tea in the Smithtown branch, I asked for a medium tea and was told I can only get a 20oz.tea because the teabags were too big. So, ok, I took a 20 Oz. English breakfast tea. I watched as the barista as she filled a 20 Oz. cup with hot water, put in a tea bag with about a teaspoonful of tea, and before it brewed immediately put cold milk into it. The tea was about the color of milk and had no taste. I asked if I wasn't permitted to buy a smaller cup, can they put enough tea in it to actually have some flavor. She offered to "let me buy another tea bag"....I asked for a refund. If you're going to sell tea, show your employees how to properly...

This was my first time coming here and I ordered the Creme caramel latte and the mango fruit tea. In the latte you could taste the espresso but it was not bitter. In the future, I would forego the whipped cream as it made the drink a little too sweet for my taste. The mango fruit tea tasted a little artificial but was refreshing. The customer service was great and the interior was well decorated. I also ordered the mini donut bites which were good, the hazelnut filling was especially nice. This location also supports the local community by selling art from local artists and letting local organizations fundraise money for their events. I would definitely visit again and try more...
