Southampton Town Building Department — Local services in Town of Southampton

My fiancee girlfriend has lived here for over 20 years, and our neighbors are very respectful. On top of that my fiancée girlfriend not only is a philanthropist who always donates to Southampton art center and other good causes like Breast cancer, and donated many years to causes in the whole state of ny. Now someone who is from Jersey and has lived in the block for over 15 years decides to buy from someone’s heirs… a total demolition home about 2.5 sale. original home (1story) and it was approved in less than 4 months for a total tear down and built in a wet land… a high ceiling home … it looks like 4 story building. blocking from everyone even the horizon view of us 3 neighbors who aren’t too happy, some of us… ask they don’t know how this was approved. in the meanwhile other of our neighbors waited years to be approved. Now we don’t even have privacy, it feels it was intentionally done to us. This is what we came to see out of our window when we came back from Florida. I hope something is done about this. I called ahead and spoke with an inspector from building and zoning asking what I needed to bring for my project. When I get there the woman helping me was nothing but rude and dismissive, did not let me get a word in as to what I was told. Everyone there is either a know it all or knows nothing. Also was brought to my attention that another permit I had was not closed out due to their inspector not handing in a document, but they don’t give you the benefit of the doubt they make it your problem even when you show them documentation.
