It's a nice, clean store with friendly staff but that's where the good ends. They seem to operate on a buy low, sell high business model which isn't good for anyone but them.
This is their pricing model: -scour the Internet for the lowest price -offer 1/6 of that price to the seller -search for a normal retail price -mark item for sale at half that price
The used items I saw were overpriced. $100 for an outdated, used, dirty stroller? Seriously? I had time to look around while waiting for my items to be appraised. They take half off the lowest retail they can find online and give the person bringing items on just one third of that (one sixth of the lowball retail price). They then turn around and mark items for sale at 50% of the regular retail price (possibly more, some of the tagged prices were very high but that what they told me their policy was). They don't take condition into account. I brought in brand new items and the offer wasn't any more than what they offer for older stuff. What a racket. I get the feeling anyone trying to sell anything in good shape won't be willing to take what they offer so what's on the shelves is junk (minus the brand new Melissa and Doug stuff they sell for themselves and put out front). I was the second person to walk away from a ridiculously low offer in the 20 minutes I spent there. The offer was so low that I left with my items and took them to a women's shelter. I feel better being out a bit of money and helping someone out than lining the pockets of kid 2 kid.
To give an example the amount they're willing to pay I brought in seven items totaling $240 retail if purchased from buy buy baby or $210 if purchased from Amazon. They offered $18 and change in cash or $22 in store credit. Every single item was brand new in the original packaging. Judging by the marked prices on their items they would be asking around $115 for these things, none of which were clothing items which they said they sometimes discount. I don't begrudge them their profit but it's taking advantage of people to offer so little in order to get a...
Read moreReally really disappointed with this location. Iâve sold to Kid to Kid in West Seneca and never had any issues. I decided to sell at this location because it was on my way to work. The wait time wasnât very long and I tried to stay for a bit but there were a couple others ahead of me so I explained that there was no rush and Iâd come back after work to collect cash and what was not taken. *keep in mind before leaving they explained that they did not need the bathtub I brought in because they had too many as well as a pile of clothes and shoes that they started sorting through. They did explain their 3 day policy and if clothes werenât picked up theyâd be donated.
I had to stay at work later than expected and could not go the same day for pickup, however I did call the following morning and told them that I could pick up the following day after work (the 3rd day). I went for pickup and the cashier was confused what I was picking up. I pointed out the bathtub and said that there were also clothes and shoes that they did not want as well. A rude employee with an attitude cut into our conversation and told me that the clothes and shoes were donated because I did not come to pick them up. I explained that I had called and let someone know that I was coming in for pick up and they assured me that it was fine. She said well no one wrote a note so I donât know. Even with a 3 day policy, youâd assume that theyâd have the decency to try and contact the seller before donating their clothes. Incredibly unprofessional. Not only did she not apologize for donating clothes and shoes that were in great condition, she also had a horrible attitude!! I was not offered any store credit for the inconvenience and nothing close to an apology.
Keep in mind, they donated the clothes and shoes and the tub that they âdidnât wantâ because they had too many in store..HAD A PRICE TAG ON IT!! I am honestly so in shock at the level of unprofessionalism at...
Read moreDONT WASTE YOUR TIME DONATING. I brought Brand New items in and the lady said they had stains and couldn't accept them when the poles to the tummy time mat havnt even been bent because it was brand new, definitely didn't have stains. I also brought 2 baby Jumperoos barely used with no stains, the 1 was brand new and the other was used twicd and the lady wouldn't accept any of my items which is crazy because these items were not stained and in great condition. As I walked around the store I came across things in worse condition like a beat up highchair all scraped up, warn down swings and jumperoos in worse condition then mine etc.. I used to think this store was a great idea for us moms needing to get money back on our items and to buy things at a better price but now I'm seeing it's a big waste of time. Don't bother bringing items in because they will send you away. After they sent me away with the brand new items I brought in that they wouldnt accept, a friend suggested selling them on Facebook marketplace and the next day my items were all bought in 1 lot all together and made way more money then they would've gave me IF they did accept my items which they didn't. Not to mention their prices are outrageous. Check the goodwill first and if selling/donating use FACEBOOK marketplace. This is the LAST TIME I'm going to this place to be sent away with nothing when I know I have brand new to little used items. I wouldn't of wasted my time going again but I knew my items were brand new cause I just bought them for my nephew who didn't need them so I thought for sure they will take them but nope they denied...
