Lied to and let down. Went into Dick's in Kingston NY looking for the one thing our 14 year old with asked for. They said the could order it and it would be here by Christmas eve. I asked the salesman SEVERAL TIMES ...ARE YOU SURE?? I can drive one hour and get the same item so if you can't get this to me by Christmas eve I'd rather drive an hour. I explained that my boyfriends and his son's like to fish, hike and spend time outdoors, all except one. And this kid finally found something him and his father like to do outdoors and all his asked for was this archery target. So if it was not possible please let me know now. The salesman assured me they just got an email from the corporation today that this would be possible. Complete sales tactic that I fell for. I checked the tracking # tonight and it won't be here the 24th, it will arrive the 29th. Call the store, the manager explained that is not possible because if a merchant runs out of an item ordered by more than one person, that someone would not be getting what they ordered. When I asked the manager why would this employee tell me it was possible, and to go as far as look the email up in front of me to confirm it could be? She had no answer. Realizing I was getting no where with the store, I called the corporation, here's where it gets interesting. The guy on the phone told me to call UPS and ask why it is going to take 5 more days to get here, and to ask if it could be intercepted and supplied me the # to call. I told him I would try, but if they can't help me I would be calling back very very upset. He said oh no, please don't call back upset, I might get the call and don't want to deal with drama and laughed!!! Mind you I was nothing but nice on the phone. Sooo I call UPS, After being on hold 32 minutes a very nice lady told me nothing could be done and they should have shipped it next day if they were going to make that promise. So as promised (cause I mean what I say) I called Dick's corperation back. When I explain the story to the next guy he is shocked I was told to call UPS!!! And the best part of it all is I can't get money back but they can give me a store credit!!! Reason being you ask?? We only had cash on us at the store, the register that the salemans had the order placed on didn't except cash so we had to go upfront and was made to buy the gift card, as this way the only way to order it!!! So now I'm pissed and I want to speak to a regional manager, but I was then told it would take 24-48 hours for that to happen!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! All I want is to know I can get my money back so I can go to a store that has the archery target and actually buy it and they can't give even give me a call back to let me know if that's possible??? Thank you Dick's for ruining this kids Christmas. He didn't ask for video games or expensive electronics like his brother or even most kids his age, he asked for something that you promised me would be here and now all I can give him is a picture of it. Your policies are terrible, your employees are directed by your corporate office to guarantee something that is not possible just to make a sale, and if you can't take cash at all register's in your stores then don't have a register in that department! So people are forced to buy a gift card so they can't get cash back if returning the item!! Oh but wait, then you wouldn't benefit from it because you'd have to give me my money back and not a friggen store credit when I don't want to ever step foot in one of your locations again!! Read moreI truly do love this store I go into the store weekly but after my experience tonight im torn from here on out. I looked online and saw you guys had a certain product on your website and I called just to make sure it was in stock even though it said you had 4 of them. I spoke with Tyler and he said after I spelled the product to him 2 times n he insisted you guys didn't have it n then he stated how corporate stores tend to not have the best inventory up to date for online sales nor did he see any in transit for any time to come. So I thanked him but yet something felt off. I pulled up the product again n proceeded to look at it again still saying 4 in-store n I can pick up tonight in store. So I went up n there u have it tyler hanging out by some girl n 4 of the product sitting on the shelves like the site stated. I wish people that worked in these stores had more accountability...
Read moreHorrible. Salesman assured me that the bat I was buying was league correct. It wasn't so I had to return it. They apologized and, this time, assured me that they picked out the right bat. I made them double check because the new bat was twice as expensive. Wrong again!! This time, they wouldn't let me take it back even though it wasn't used. The plastic wrapper was taken off. What's the point of paying twice as much money when you can get it cheaper on-line. They people that work there...
