I have shopped here numerous times and spent a good amount of money. Its a well organized and clean store. I stopped by yesterday and when I came in said hello to the two women who were working. They did not look happy to be there. I walked around and saw a small bookcase I was interested in and went up front to ask if they could do better on the price as it would take a lot of work to make it useable. One lady walked back to look at it with me and said they could only do 10% off and I asked politely if they could contact the seller and ask for me. She said "we can't do that, if we did we'd be on the phone all day". I said thank you, and left. I can't tell you how many times in the past I have asked if the staff can contact the sellers and I have bought many items that way. I guess thats the new policy and I felt the seller perhaps lost a sale and you lost a good customer.
Thank you for responding and yes , I did not stop to read the sign by the register on my way in. I bought items from you in May 2025 and calls were made on my behalf and it was under your $200 threshold.... It has been my experience as an designer, that almost all stores are willing to hear a good offer. And if not, its fine. No matter, there are plenty of antique stores more than willing to hear a fair offer and respond. My best...
Read moreI visited this antique store to show my cousin American antques. My parents took my little one to look around the store and I had my backpack (diaper bag) on my back. The lady at the front asked me maybe 15-20 minutes into our visit if they could hold onto my bag because they werent allowed in the store. I was perfectly find doing that I'd just go get it of the baby needed anything so I put it on the counter and walked away. Just a big bag so fair enough, not a big deal.
Then as im walking around, I loop back around and a couple people come in with huge bags. I assume they'd have their bags taken as well. However, the rest of the time I was there the people at the counter were ignoring other people with large bags and kept looking over at us. I should have just left. But I bought my items and left feeling targeted.
Why did they only take my bag when they were supposedly not allowed? This used to be one of my favorite antique stores but now I just cant see myself going back. Im not sure if it was racially motivated or if we were targeted because we looked younger. But I can say that I was...
Read moreGreat antique shop, good prices, however the clerks are less than helpful and friendly. I recently purchased a large cabinet that I had to load onto a trailer. The owner (?) and his wife were manning the front counter, I needed a dolly to move the cabinet through the store. I paid for my items, and was told that they would get the dolly in a minute and continued to ring up the customers that kept approaching the counter. I am not sure why it took both of them to use one register, but that is how it went. After standing there for about ten minutes, still waiting, I got back in line. The lady said "I can help who is next" and I told her "I am next, I need a dolly". The gentleman, her husband, said "yeah, and I need about ten other employees". Eventually he took less than 30 seconds to get a dolly and we loaded it ourselves with not even an offer of assistance. All the guy did was rudely yell at his wife to open the door. He is...
