If i could give zero stars... I definitely would. My husband and I went to see "How To Train Your Dragon" in 3D. Tickets weren't cheap at all; neither are the snacks or drinks. So, when i go to the movies, i expect to have a decent experience at the least. The movie itself was fine, from what i could actually enjoy. The person behind me and her child were the MOST OBNOXIOUS pair I had ever encountered in the movie theater. I had a subpar experience when I went to the Regal in Syracuse back in March... But i decided to give it another shot.. We then saw Lilo & Stitch and the experience at the Regal theater at Eastview was great. Of course, I thought we would have the same experience this time around, but that was not the case. So let me clarify, the child behind me is a CHILD and I expect especially for a little one, that they're going to be antsy; I have kids myself. HOWEVER, the mother, or the adult accompanying the child, letting her child walk around and hit the back of the seat numerous times is not okay. Not to mention having to hear crinkling of plastic the entire showing... However, this is not the fault of the movie theater. I was told previously by Regal staff that there is supposed to be an employee coming in during the showing to make sure all is well. I have yet to see that. Would be helpful if that was the case and they caught numerous people recording and/or taking photos of the movie with their flash ON. This is very distracting and frustrating especially when you are trying to watch a movie. Especially one you are paying full price to see. It really is unfortunate how one family can ruin a film for...
Read moreIt’s an upstate New York movie theater. The bar is set low and this place has no problem meeting it. The seats? They were nice 5 years ago when they were newer. The food is terribly overpriced but what do you expect. Floors are covered in all kinds of garbage but I still find it hard to get mad because of how little I expected going in. If you and your friends are bored one winter day there’s a lovely empty lot next to the place to take your beater Subaru and do subie circles in the snow.
They’re really pushing this unlimited movie pass for $21 a month but honestly at that price it’s not even worth it. This is America so the theater is far away from where people live and the only link to it is through roads so inhospitable to anything but your Escalade you got from Kunkleman Chevrolet so you’re going to have to drive here. Once you factor in you have to drive to the theater every time you want to see something you probably end up losing money. That’s not even considering you just have to hope and pray there’s something you want to watch at a time you can watch it. I mean I guess you do get the opportunity to see it on a larger screen but still I struggle to see the value of it compared to just streaming it at home for the same price with much greater selection and flexibility.
It’s chain movie theater in upstate New York. If you really care that much soak it up while you still can, because this place isn’t going to be here much longer unless you can get something big to change.
And to the teenage couple sitting in our seats we all know very well why you wanted the seats in the very back of the theater away from...
Read moreMy son and I went and saw Shazam last weekend and ordered small popcorn, soda, some candy and nachos (my sons favorite). They had run out of tortilla chips so the kod at the concession counter said his manager was getting some for us. My son and I stood there waiting for something we paid for (nothing you sell is affordably priced and getting a refund would have taken days to get back). We waited 10 freaking minutes for a small bag of tortilla chips. I see the manager (Asian guy) walk as slowly as possible with a half empty box of small tortilla chips. Out of what I am assuming is a stock room near the bathrooms or past the bathrooms. He couldn't have cared less that there was a customer waiting. The kid at the counter looked mortified that his manager was somehow walking in slow motion, walking any slower he would have been completely stopped. Took him several minutes to walk from the restroom are to behind the counter. I genuinely don't understand why he was taking his sweet time, but I am a single mother and every single penny counts, I saved up for 3 weeks to take my 9 year old to that movie and then was shown the worst service by the manager and then was 10 minutes late to the movie. Paid for a movie that we didn't even get to see the whole thing, still don't know what happened within the first sevetal minutes. I am so genuinely upset and so was my son. Thsnks for ruining the one thing I saved up to do with my son. Management should be the first people to treat a situation as important and he just flat out was too good to do his job in a...
