The Home Depot — Local services in Town of Wappinger

Placed an order for items from the Home Depot in Wappingers NY. Order placed on a Saturday and was supposed to be delivered on Sunday between 6am and 8pm. 6:30pm and the items hadn't yet arrived. Called Home Depot customer service who called the Wappingers store and was told that there is no reason to think the items won't be delivered by 8pm. Well, the delivery didn't happen. Called customer service on Monday at about 3pm because delivery still didn't happen. Still the delivery didn't happen. The order doesn't even show as shipped.

A few months earlier I experienced a similar problem with the Home Depot in Fishkill NY. The items were never delivered or shipped. I had to drive to the store to pickup the items.

Then on a separate date, instead of choosing delivery, I chose to pickup an order in the parking lot of the Fishkill NY store. Waited and waited and no one brought the order. Had to go into the store to pickup the order.

Home Depot just sucks when it comes to e-commerce. Reminds me of JC Penney who couldn't get their act together with e-commerce and eventually took a big hit, in part because of that.

Edit: Home Depot e-commerce is total incompetence. In addition to what I wrote above, Home Depot shipped me an order and guess what, they sent me the wrong item. The SKU wasn't even close to the SKU of the item I ordered. Now I have the hassle of returning the item and reordering and waiting for the correct item. It took 9 days for the item to arrive. This time around I ordered the item on Amazon and it was 40% less expensive and it'll arrive in...

I normally do not dislike my experience at Home Depot. They are mostly always friendly and helpful, not this place.

We walked in to get some cedar wood for fencing. We couldnt find them so we asked employee A. He found the cedar wood on a higher shelf. He asked employee B to operate the machine to bring the stack down. Employee B gives an attitutde to Employee A and tells him it was pre ordered by someone. Apparently the cedar wood stack was ticketed wrong so they were not pre ordered by anyone... employee B spent 15 mins arguing and glaring at us the customers the whole time we were picking the wood..

We brought the wood to the self check out. After waiting in line for 15 mins, an employee came and told us we couldn't check out lumber at the self check out. We wondered to ourselves why the person couldn't have told us that sooner?

We brought the lumber to the designated check out and the cashier couldn't do math so she asked us to repeat the number of lumber we were buying multiple times.

Not sure if there is an issue on the managerial level on training employees or they just have a bad hr manager who hires unqualified people , this Wappingers Falls home depot should really get their acts together and improve the customer service to be more efficient and friendly.

We get shocked becasue Home Depot in Poughkeepsie is the complete opposite! So friendly and so helpful! Who would've thought Wappingers Falls location would be this...

What’s special about this Home Depot is that you have many experienced employees that work in this particular Location. I was working on a project in my home and decided to go to the Pro desk for help. I dealt with Cathy and Maryann. They helped me to make my vision come true of remolding my finished basement into exactly what I wanted. I told them exactly what I was looking for and they helped me to come up with a idea of what materials to use and what flooring to use. When I brought my contractor there they also set up a pro account where he can get the materials needed for the job and I don’t even have to be there, they send a text to confirm what is being bought for the project. My basement came out amazing! The tools they have in stock I have used for other house hold projects like the Milwaukee Band saw, which I was able to get the day I needed it. The service desk is very friendly and I have always had quick and easy returns with no hassle. The paint department also has very experienced employees as well as they new exactly how to match the paint I need to do some patch up work in my sons room. I really like this Home Depot because of these reasons and I will be shopping here many...
