My first experience trying pho was a great one. Firstly, I really like the smaller, more intimate setting with the tables and chairs against both long walls, centered by booths. It gave it a more private feel without feeling over crowded in any way. The restaurant is clean and the employees are very pleasant and attentive.
Onto the food!! I tried the grilled shrimp spring rolls which tasted delicious and fresh. The fried rice was eggy, which I love and a nice compliment to the pho itself. My first visit I tried the authentic pho which is advertised as “Special Beef Noodle Soup” (SBNS) on the menu. The only thing I think might be “weird” to some ppl is the addition of tendon. I personally went all in and enjoyed every morsel and each unique texture.
I went back yesterday and tried Pho Tai, which is their signature pho with eye of round steak. It was almost as good as the SBNS but the flavor profile was lighter, more subtle. I can’t really say one is better than another, just slightly different, flavor wise.
All in all Saigon Pho offers a pleasant atmosphere and excellent Vietnamese cuisine that feels and tastes like the real deal, because it is!. I highly recommend giving this place a try and don’t miss out on their homemade sriracha and hoisin sauces, each one already on the table, ready to add a flavor punch to anything and everything they...
Read moreComing out of California Little Saigon we've had a hard time adjusting to lack of Vietnamese, especially beyond Pho. We've finally found our Hudson Valley Vietnamese home, Saigon Pho.
We had: chicken salad with shrimp chips - amazing, just the right balance of crunch and flavor White coffee (iced and hot) - both had strong flavorful coffee and just the right amount of condensed milk Beef Pho special - broth flavorful, mixed beef was abundant, and included beef balls Salmon entree - Wow wow wow, even the Sunnyside up egg was flavorful with their special sauce. The side of garlic rice was so good we took another order home to have for dinner the next night Lemongrass beef vermicelli - of all this dishes this one didn't quite match my expectations. Still very delicious and didn't skip out on meat Mango bubble tea - it was good, but average We took Bahn Mi home for lunch the next day. Very good! Missing the jalapenos, but that I'm sure can be requested.
Overall delicious. We liked that they did not skimp on meat servings and each dish had their own unique flavor.
We all agreed we will make the hour drive to return once a...
Read moreThe waitress is so friendly and nice. I was worry when it is only 2 tables with customers at 6:30pm on Saturday. However, more customers were coming after us, so the atmosphere was better and they had many take out orders too.
The pho is good. The portion is good size, and we asked the raw beef on aside. We ordered some appetizers. The mini shrimp rolls are so tiny, but good that was shareable. We ordered the grilled pork chop with rice, it was so tasty. The rice was Partially dried out. We also had the grilled chicken too. It was tasty, tender and not juicy, it may be they grilled it ahead of time and a bit dried out. It was different taste and less juicy than we tried years ago. We definitely will come back again when we have friends gathering. Also, they have WiFi passwords posted on the table, and have to walk to the counter and paid it, may be due to short of staffs? But it was fine to us. Even though the staffs were so busy working preparing take our orders and food , our waitress did come to our table couples times to check with us, she was so nice. We had a...
