I used to love savers. Good deals and discounts offered. We would go every weekend. For a while now the prices have been higher than Tommy Chong. They take in absolutely free donated goods to be sold under the guise of charity. Ha!
Google how much they actually donate.
Do not, and I can’t stress this enough, go into the bathrooms. Both were used in the filming of Saw. I’ve been in port-a-potties at a concert cleaner than the mens room. 100% go somewhere else before you enter savers. In fact, I’d recommend taking a shower after going into savers in general. You think tops never mops? Yea… . Don’t even think about the stuff in the glass cases. Pretty sure I saw a Picasso in there judging by the prices.
If it turns out not to be a Picasso and you want to return it, forget about it. No returns. No place to try on clothes. No place to sit and try on shoes. Once you buy it, you own it. Although you can exchange it for more overpriced merchandise.
Looking for an overpriced pair of shoes? They got you covered. Don’t expect them to have any tread or be in good shape. Expect a big price though.
Looking for cheap kids clothes? Better wait for garage sale season. There ain’t nothing cheap in here. $2 for a plain white cotton pre-stained Haines tshirt in a kids size S. That’s some 25 cent in a box at a garage sale ish right there.
Looking for some rare, vintage item? They might have it. You’re gonna pay dearly for it though. I saw an old Star Wars toy in there once. Price tag said “arm” another one said “soul”.
Avoid this place like that crazy ex we all have. Unless you like overpaying and pretending to do good. The only good I see coming out of this place is keeping stuff out of the landfill. Although you could simply donate to a real charity. Hit up local garage sales and the flea market. At least...
Read moreA need for Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, & REPRESENTATION for people of color.!!! " I don't like your tone" the store manager stated when I told her that I would much rather scan my own items at the self check out line... however there wasn't anything that got loud of my words But the color of my skin. It was one minute to close and my husband did his transaction separately which ahe assisted him...but I knew that I put more then what I bargain for in my cart like Everytime I go to Savers, so I much rather sort my things as I scan..she said that it was time to go and she had cashier'to send home so she needed to scan my things. I told her I would rather scan and she was upset , even stood by me at the register, and asked for some lspace as I scan and sort my items. She was horrible...as the store manager, she asked can one of the cashier who was leaving for the night to stay with her until we leave as if my husband, who haven't said one word, and I was a threat! This is so sad. And it is heavy...this is what happens when black people get pulled over, or advocate to passionly.." I don't like your tone" as if she was superior than me. And the aggression, and the entitlement she projected , just shows the need for a equity in this country. I've been shopping at savers my entire living in Rochester, I am a Educator, Community Advocate, and Black Social Worker. I have always vouch to the community how affordable Savers, but being respected and appreciated as a population of people is far...
Read moreSavers does NOT offer refunds and does not give store credit. They do ONLY exchanges. They also do not have dressing rooms at this time.
I post this because I asked if I could use the dressing room to which they regretfully informed me they did not have one, BUT that I could purchase the clothes and return them within 2 weeks if they did not fit. So I didn't fully inspect the clothes and made the purchase thinking I could simply return what I did not want.
20 minutes later, I tried them on. A pair of jeans had a rip at the zipper and I came back the same morning to return and was told by the lady at the door that they do not offer returns, only exchanges. When I wanted to go clarify with the cashier (who clearly misspoken, honest mistake), the lady at the door stopped me, and proceeded to get loud with me. Not the best customer service.
I fixed the pants, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up on their actual policy for any first-timers.
Maybe Savers can get there employees on the same page? Would've been nice to confirm with the cashier with what she said so we could've come to a better resolution rather then having the gate keeper come at me. Lol
Anyway, Happy thrifting,...
