Brides stay far away from this place !!! Illana had my wedding dress and my moms dress for over 4 months ….. This where the story begins first time I went there I was happy , second appointment still happy now third appointment nothing was done to my dress and something seemed off about my dress but I couldn’t put my finger on it . Forth appointment came around my hem is not done pins everywhere still and since my last appointment nothing was done . My moms dress was thrown in her sewing chair in her sewing room then after my mom and I were done trying out dresses on she had another bride come in the changing room without our dresses being put away first . Very unprofessional and to top it off she forgot bout our appointment then my mom had to point out she only had 1 cup in my wedding dress . After that appointment my mom had a very bad feeling because we were 2 weeks out from my wedding date and this dress was far from being ready . My mom went ahead and called Bridal Chateau who recommended her and told them exactly what was going on , they told cause to call them on Friday when I was suppose to pick up my dress just to make sure everything was okay . Thursday comes I get a text message that my dress is not done and my moms isn’t either we are 8 days out from my wedding !!!! Called Bridal Chateau in a panic and they told me not to worry the owner Deb who used to do all the bridal alterations was coming out of retirement to fix my dress . They told me to grab my dress and moms asap and bring it to their shop . Got the dresses from Illana who was lying when I was giving her my hair dresser Emma’s name who she cut off Emma’s gloves off her wedding dress her exact words when I told her I don’t know what your talking about . I can show you Emma’s paperwork proving she went there then she played games with my friend Ashley’s wedding dress canceling appointments the whole nine yards . Ashley got her dress 10 days before her wedding which is ridiculous. Then I find out at my wedding one of my wedding guests Savannah who got married 2 weeks before me had the same experience canceling her appointments and getting her dress a week before her wedding . It keeps getting better my brothers best friends wife Miranda who also had Illana do her dress along with her mother in law Brenda’s dress had the same experience . Miranda got her dress a week before her wedding and her wedding was the weekend before mine . Everyone who I just named also has their paper work from Illana so she can’t lie and say I don’t know what your talking about. She even went as far as canceling Brenda’s appointment when Brenda she was already there like are you kidding . Now back to my dress when I arrived at Bridal Chateau I was greeted my a hug from Deb telling me everything was going to be okay thst her and her daughter Amy were going to fix my dress . When I get my dress on and Deb starts working her magic she tells me that Illana cut all the points off my wedding dress . I had no idea what points were but points are what makes a wedding dress a wedding dress and that’s why my dress seemed off to me . Deb told me she was going to fix everything and not to worry . Deb know I was a wreck and didn’t want to upset me but I asked her if my hem was uneven cause you could clearly tell it was snd Deb said yes …. Deb was in shock to finally see Illana’s work first hand cause it was not living up to what wonderful work she could do . I come back to Bridal Chateau Monday to try my dress back on but Saturday I get the sweetest message from Deb telling me my dress is almost done and looks beautiful once again . Monday when I arrive at the shop Deb had my dress all done !!! I was in shock like she finished my dress in 3 days and my moms in 2 hours , like why was my dress at Illana’s shop for over 4 months and nothing but pins were in my dress . Bottom line to this story is Bridal Chateau is taking Illana off their recommendations because they had no idea all the games she’s playing with brides...
Read moreI dropped my dress off on may 5th, for an 8/26 wedding. At the appointment for the final fitting/pickup, nothing was done. The pins were still in it, she hadn’t touched a thing. She explained that she had been extremely busy and asked for more time. I agreed.
She didn’t call ahead of time so I actually came and put the dress back on to find out that nothing had been done, but I figured it was just part of being overly busy and I agreed.
She reached out asking for more time, again. I agreed.
However- at 8:30PM the night before my (now twice rescheduled) pickup appointment she called to ask for another week. I explained that I wouldn’t be in town then, and asked her if it was possible for her to have it done before I left town. She said yes.
At this point I understandably had lost all confidence in her. I asked her to do JUST the hem figuring that the rest of the dress fit well enough, so if she could just do the hem in time for my wedding I would be okay. that would mean me giving up on the bustle, which was fine with me. I just wanted to be able to wear my dress!
I called Tom and Luigi’s just to see if they’d be able to help me last minute in case she didn’t end up pulling through. They were booked through the end of august. I explained my situation and they said they would squeeze me in.
I contacted ilana to ask her to remove her pins so that I could pick up the dress to bring it somewhere else.
When I got there to pick up my BRAND NEW dress, not only was it not worked on, at ALL- it was now DIRTY AND STAINED. so I ended up spending a little more at Tom and Luigi’s to have a clean dress.
I’m very easy going. Yes, even about my wedding dress. And I can understand an accident. A handful of mistakes even. The issue is that ilana provided no excuse, explanation, or apology.
In fact, her and the other woman there laughed at me like high school bullies when I came to pick up my dress.
Ilana might try to defend herself in the comments here and that’s fine, because I have every text message we sent back and forth and I can prove that every word I’ve said here is the truth.
I also have my receipt from Tom and Luigi’s, proving that even though ilana had my dress in her possession for 3 months, it was Tom and Luigi’s who cleaned, hemmed (and bustled!...
Read moreI went to Sew Classy because the place I bought my wedding dress recommended them. By the way, I never leave negative reviews. So know it has to be pretty bad for me to give one star.
First, trying to call was an issue. It always says the mailbox is full. I sent my sister to go to the place since she lives nearby to inquire about my wedding dress, apparently the owner communicates through text. I made an appointment for April 7th for my mom and I. When we went the seamstress kept taking walk ins. It felt very impersonal, but I figured it was just because she was busy. Once the appointment was done I made my follow up for May 20th. I received a call at 3:20 on May 20th saying she couldn't accommodate my appointment today. I'm 7 weeks out from my wedding so I'm very busy and I told her that, but she didn't seem to really want to work with me. Something just felt off. So I texted her that if she hadn't started (which I figured 7 weeks, that was probably ridiculous) I would come get the dresses if she was too overwhelmed. I absolutely expected her to say she had already started my wedding dress, she just fell a bit behind. Nope! The dress wasn't even started!!! I picked both my mom and my wedding dress up immediately. No sorry, no nothing! If you're a bride don't waste your time. It's not worth it. I called E & K alterations and they got me in the same day. I know Sew Classy has several amazing reviews, but after looking at the 1 star, this looks like a pattern to me. Why would you risk it? Go somewhere else. Seriously, 7 weeks, no alterations at all and then somehow said she could miraculously get them done in two days...no thank you. I paid a lot of money for my dress to have a...
